While Obama was spending three hours watching "The Dark Knight" five time zones away, and going to a fund-raiser featuring "Aloha attire" and Hawaiian pupus, Hillary was busy planning her convention.
You can almost hear her mind whirring: She's amazed at how easy it was to snatch Denver away from the Obama saps. Like taking candy from a baby, except Beanpole Guy doesn't eat candy. In just a couple of weeks, Bill and Hill were able to drag No Drama Obama into a swamp of Clinton drama.
Now they've made Barry's convention all about them -- their dissatisfaction and revisionism and barely disguised desire to see him fail. Whatever insincere words of support the Clintons muster, their primal scream gets louder: He can't win! He can't close the deal! We told you so! Hillary's orchestrating a play within the play in Denver. Just as Hamlet used the device to show that his stepfather murdered his father, Hillary will try to show the Democrats they chose the wrong savior.
Her former aide Howard Wolfson fanned the divisive flames Monday on ABC News, arguing that Hillary would have beaten Obama in Iowa and become the nominee if John Edwards' affair had come out last year -- an assertion contradicted by a University of Iowa survey showing that far more Edwards supporters had Obama as their second choice.
Hillary feels no guilt about encouraging her supporters to mess up Obama's big moment, thus undermining his odds of beating John McCain and improving her odds of being the nominee in 2012.
She's obviously relishing Hillaryworld's plans to have multiple rallies in Denver, to take out TV and print ads and to hold up signs in the hall that read "Denounce Nobama's Coronation."

This may actually be an opportunity for the Republicans. Think of it, the African-American demographic is actually very strongly conservative on social issues, and most vote Democrat primarily out of tradition (and the shrill urgings of 'black leaders' like Sharpton, who are slowly losing their level of influence). This could be a major inflection point that is similar to that which shunted Blacks from the Republican to the Democrat party (simply because it seemed that the Democrats were more for Civil rights than Republicans, which at the time I'd say seemed the case. This made Blacks move from the party that had actually stood up for freeing slaves, even though Lincoln may have had other subtler reasons for doing so it is still the Republican party that stood for this, to a party that had been the fount of the White supremacist movement in the South ...the Democrat party).
Imagine what would happen if Obama, who for lack of a better word is revered by blacks and young voters, had the nomination (for lack of a better word) 'taken away' from him.
That would be the death knell of the Democrat party, and Hillary would just have won herself a Phyrric victory (sp). I think this is a great opportunity for us, especially among young upward mobile blacks (college degree, professional background), and middle-aged black professionals (who would be typical Republican voters ....were it not for the fact that they vote Democrat).
I still don’t think she has a chance in “her future place of residence”.
The argument that somehow the democrat voters will reason that she was the best choice because of Obama’s failure doesn’t hold up.
The Democrat voters place all their collective futures on feelings. Not fact-based reasoning.
The candidate they will swoon over must be a “visionary”, a “leader in the field of ideas”. ( plans are optional)
No matter how you slice her, (?) Hillary is still just a battered wife of a hillbilly politician. Her own party has moved on. I believe she is simply taking a last trip down Sunset Boulevard. “I’m ready for my close up Mr. DeMille”.

All I can say is that if I were a democrat I’d be very upset with my party for taking away the voter’s rights in foavor of what Howeird Dean and the left wing wanted. It’s the ultimate hypocrisy to have actually done what they projected our side of doing in 2000!
...However, just watch between now and Denver how many on this very site loooong to have the clintons back in power!
I think the clintons are light years ahead of Obama in the ruthless, evil-to-the-core, do ANYTHING for power department...they make him look like Mother Teresa...my opinion...

I have finely developed sense of fairplay, common courtesy, and conservative ideals.
What the DNC did to Hillary offends me. I’d rather have a (relatively) clean debate rather than that dog and pony show with the “impartial” moderators asking her the first question every time and then having that empty suit straight from the bowels of Marx chime in, “Me, too!”
It was like watching Buffalo Bob (Oh geez, my age shows!) work the Howdy-Doody puppet, only this time, the strings were pulled by Charles Gibson and his crew of head of bangers.

I’m glad you’re campaigning for McCain. The alternative is just too awful to contemplate. But regarding the press and their “unfair” treatment of Hillary, I don’t buy it. The Clintons are image masters, and know how to play the “unfair” card in ways that others can only dream of. Plus the press might be totally fed up with them and their crap, and have chosen to not play nice anymore. Either way, we don’t have a dog in that fight, so screw ‘em. A pox on both their houses.

This is gonna be a gooood convention, lol. I usually don’t watch the dims big show, but this time I’ll have it on..... on mute that is. I am really depending on my fellow FReepers telling me when the good stuff starts so that I can unmute.
Funny, I find myself almost.... almost.... rooting for the beast.....then I catch myself. I don’t want that woman one stolen election closer to the oval office. Obama is the much weaker candidate. But I NEVER thought I’d despise any democrat more than I do Hillary and Bill. Well, then along came Obama.
This whole thing has been so entertaining to watch though.

Its his close circle of friends and advisors who are the brains. Obama is just an actor.
