Acclamation is where everybody says “Yay!!!!!”, and it’s done..........That has been the way it’s been done since like forever. There hasn’t been a brokered convention since 1968?............

Roll call votes have been the norm since long before 1968, which had one also and btw was not a "brokered" convention. Someone has been feeding you a lot of beans. The only acclamation votes have been the rare occasions when an incumbent with no primary opposition to speak of is re-nominated.
