This whole thing is not looking good.

The former Russian poodles grew teeth. Beating a dog makes it mean as hell. Russia miscalculated the hate their former poodles have for their former cruel master.
A whole pack of them....

This Russian - Georgia war situation is really starting to
heat up.

Hundreds of stinger and javelin missiles need to be shipped to Ukraine NO2 (or better yet last week), and squadrons of F-18s and A-10s need to be staged out of Ukrainian airbases NOW (or again, better yet last week).

Ukraine is right, if country is attacking country B from Country C’s territory, then Country C is forced to react.

Ukrainian input here, and meanwhile, Poland is leaping forward for SDI involvement, US missiles, etc.
What other shoes will drop? Ideas?

Looks like Ukraine was smart to invite the Tatars to return to the Crimea back in the 90’s.

Here's a map of the region for reference:
Sevastopol is on the southern part of the Crimean peninsula (top center of the Black Sea).

a serious new antiRussian step. Ukrainians demanding notice from Russia for ship, aircraft or personnel while in their port ,or not allowing them to return if they engage against Georgia is not anti-Russian.
That's how Russia sees and tells it though. Defend your country, defend your ports, it's anti-Russian.

This whole thing reminds me of a line from “Rings” trilogy

“War is upon you...whether you would have it or not”

After all the activity I’ve seen recently about how careful we must be because Ivan has nukes....well so do we...and lest we forget MAD worked...and continues to work..the Russians will not use them and neither will we for the same reasons.
Unlike our “other” enemies, Ivan has a readily accessible “return address”. They know this, and we as well have an “address”. Again MAD works..now of course it DOES rely on both sides being unwilling to commit suicide, We aren’t and as odd as his behavior has been of late...I don’t think our “friends” are ready either.

The Georgians should take a page from the Fedayeen play book and start up a guerilla war: IEDs, RPG attacks on the long BMP/tank/Katyusha columns, snipe the dismounting troops, etc.

Good to see some spine out there. Russia could soon find that everyone around them has drawn down on them instead of curling up in a ball. Your move, Pooty.

I heard the Russkies buzzed the plane with the Ukraine, Latvian, Lithuanian, Estonia and Polish Presidents and forced them to land at a different airfield for that Georgia show of support.
I would blockade them just for that B.S.
