Impersonating, probably not. Ambitious, definitely. Assuming that the SSS's annual report for 2004 was prepared in the early months of 2005, our boy Dan was spending his copious free time that spring clawing his way up the middle-management ladder.

There's a bylined piece in the June 2, 2005 issue of the Washington Post that credits him as a "spokesman" for the SS. While dancing around and flat-out ducking questions from readers in an online Q&A session, he does graciously concede that he isn't an SS "decision maker." For whatever that's worth.

I saw that.

I saw the only reference I could find of him on the SSS.gov site is project manager for Art-Z Graphics.
