Huffington Post's female pundits enraged over cheating John Edwards

Over at the lefty Huffington Post, John Edwards' confession of being a cheat has, interestingly, provoked fury among some of the gal pundits. They're mercilessly trashing the pretty boy populist -- spitting a toxic venom that even their like-minded male counterparts cannot match. Some, incredibly, are even digging their nails into Edwards' wife Elizabeth (who is battling cancer) for having aided and abetted her husband's public lies.
What's going on?
Could these ladies be writing with some deeper understanding of the issues at play, perhaps having suffered, like so many American women, at the hands of philandering boyfriends or spouses? According to one survey, 50 to 60 percent of married men have broken their marriage vows -- compared to 45 to 50 percent of women. Perhaps the columnists are subconsciously tapping into their outrage over the humiliation that their sister, Hillary, suffered as First Lady.
However, perhaps their outrage underscores something really profound: Yes, America may the midst of a culture war -- but marital infidelity, it seems, is definitely not an issue that any longer divides many Republican and Democratic women -- if it ever did. Indeed, none of the Edwards-hating Huffington Post lefties reveals a trace of the sophisticated “European attitude” about cheating husbands: the belief that flawed marriages with wandering men are not a big deal, even with all those lies (both public and private) that usually go along with keeping mistresses and fathering “love” children...

Here is what is going on.
They think they are better than everyone else. They are turning Edwards and his wife into scapegoats for all of them.
Two facts relevant here: 1. Dems are self-loathing people. 2. Dems regard the sins of one as the sins of the whole group, esp where conservatives are concerned.
They can jump on Edwards and offer him as a democrat purging sacrifice for all their sins. The party and their own consciences will be pure again once the two bad seeds are cast out and crushed. They will be able to live comfortably in their own skins, at least for a little while - until the unquenchable liberal guilt comes back again.
That is what is going on.

Don't foget that Mrs. Edwards attacked Ann Coulter on the Chrissy Matthews show for saying language that was probably a lot milder than what she was saying to her husband.
The hypocrisy and stand-by-your-man behavior from these Democratic feminists is most annoying.

We Ann fans forget nothing.
The hypocrite feminists can afford to make Edwards their whipping boy, after biting their tongues over Clinton-Edwards isn’t President, his hanky-panky doesn’t put their agenda of abortion, destruction of the family, and hamstringing of men in society, at risk. If he’d been President, they’d be covering his azz just like they did with Clinton. As someone else posted, they probably think that jumping on Edwards (and on his wife too, no less! just goes to show the boundlessness of the hypocrisy on their parts) wipes the slate till the next time. If another high-ranking ‘rat with any kind of real power should be shown to be cheating, they’ll be back to the excuses.
(answer: They knew it all along, but covered for him because he was 'useful' to their 'cause')
Up to this point most feminists I’ve talked too have chosen John Edwards as the #2 behind Hillary.
Funny that only now do they see the Breck Girl’s flaws....
