Here we go again...
Anyone: Is there such a thing as a high school text used in Christian schools that
a) reject evolution, and
b) declare the Bible infallible?
There are texts that raise some doubts about evolution and texts that suggest that the Creator is wise, but I'm not sure of anything as strongly worded as above even exists.
The school should inform UC that their graduates and those of other schools teaching anthropogenic global warming in their textbooks need not apply for teaching positions since their school neither comprehends nor properly applies the scientific method, and are thus beneath acceptable academic standards.
Another “Big Government” School Monopoly power play supported by those who support Big Government and the far left.
Good!
Its like Nasa not hiring people who believe the moon is made of cheese.
Creationism isn’t science, its belief pretending to be science.
Thankfully the judge gets it.
As long as they know the material..who the he&* cares what textbook they were using....somehow there must be a civil liberties violation here.....
Separation of church and state only applies “if the control freaks want it to”. They don’t even understand the definition. Knowing that I’m preaching to the choir..I still have to say it...It’s so that we can have the freedom to worship without GOVT intrusion. This is a big fat intrusion.
Besides all they have to do is touch on evolution and it doesn't have to be with the dogmatic mindlessness required by public schools.
Anyway, if they emphasize undeniably objective facts in their science curriculum -- math, languages, original texts (i.e. Novum Organum), chemistry, the laws of electromagnetism and other aspects of physics, objective biology (i.e. anatomy, genetics) -- the would be no objections and the kids would star in college.
And they would be much better prepared to deal with the propaganda and sloppy reasoning of some professors.
Actually, it wouldn't be a bad idea to make the read The Origin of Species and the Descent of Man.
This ping list is for articles of interest to homeschoolers. DaveLoneRanger has asked me to take over the management of this list. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping List. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added or removed from either list, or both.
Hmmm,... they allow course credit for math and English that the kids haven’t mastered to the point of offering remedial math and writing courses to make up for what the kids didn’t learn in high school.
And they’re having a cow over evolution, which is not likely to be adequately mastered even in schools where it alone is taught? Seems like an agenda to me.
I’d be interested in knowing what *religious* textbooks they’re referring to. Abeka rejects evolution but teaches it well enough that any kid using that textbook can pass that part of the NYS Regents exam. They do what the evos won’t; teach the controversy and point out why they think it’s wrong.
Charles Robinson, the university's vice president for legal affairs, told the Chronicle that the ruling "confirms that UC may apply the same admissions standards to all students and to all high schools without regard to their religious affiliations."..."except for Moslem students. They're granted credits immediately. You see, it's all about diversity, something I've sworn to uphold."
This just goes to show that the crucial evidence keeping Darwin’s ToE alive is the jackboot.
Well; I CLAIM that the Judge is lacking in EVIDENCE.
At least this ARTICLE presents NONE.
If the student has never been taught anything about the theory, I could see them having a point. But that doesn't appear to be the case - they seem to be trying to reject those who don't agree with the theory.
So much for academic freedom.
If the students do not like it they can go to some other college that will accept science based on Creationism.
