If the Ethics Committee actually gets to the point where it calls for a public reprimand, Coburn can appeal to the full Senate for a vote, and he’s betting that he’d win a vote if 100 senators were asked whether he should be allowed to deliver babies for free — especially since most of his patients are “at risk,” meaning they could be drug users, uninsured or poor patients, or women with high-risk pregnancies.

Democrats will keep healthcare in perpetual crisis until it is nationalized. The healthcare patronage jobs will make the Democrat polititians wealthy beyond their wildess dreams or until bankrupcy. Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac have already experienced the Democrat patronage job scam making Democrat biggies fabulously wealth and the institutions seriously broke.

Coburn should tell them:

“If you want to have this fight in public, let’s see who ends up looking like the idiot.”

More on point, the effing hypocrites in the Senate ARE allowed to take million dollar advances for letting someone else write a book for them with their name on it. Yeah, and Couburn can’t deliver babies for free? How assinine.

The Democrats in the Senate are all about control, no matter how much they hurt those whom they claim to be most vulnerable and those whom they claim to support.

Yeah...this is definately the worst thing a Senator could be doing with his free time. Way worse than some shady land deals a certain Senate Majority Leader. I say we burn him with the witches. /s

Seriously - why couldn’t Lindsey Graham, or Saxby Chambliss be doing something to get in trouble? .... I mean I think the other day I may have overheard Lindsey giving some free legal advice....is this enough to get the ethics committee to look at him.

Spot on.

So much for the Democraps’ COMPASSION, HUMANITY and CONCERN for “da peeple.”

“Oh my, Coburn is a REPUBLICAN (and one of the better ones) and his patients are probably REPUBLICANS and, shudder, the KID might grow up to be a REPUBLICAN. Can’t have that! We only want FUTURE WELFARE DEMOCRATS born here.”

We’re doomed.

With every new story like this, I’m reminded of the ancient Greek quotation of “Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad” (as in insane — have to define the term as an occasional new gummint skoll product stumbles through here).

And the insane to which I refer are not so much the idiot statists now running this place (into the ground) but the moron VOTERS who continue to place them near the levers of power.

Slowly but surely, Sen. Coburn is rising on the list of “coolest senators ever.”

Of course, if Coburn were running an abortion clinic, that would be totally acceptable.

I don't get it. Do they mean it's illegal for a senator to do something PRODUCTIVE and benefit society???

And yet Senators don’t have to quit their positions to campaign full time on the taxpayer’s dime for higher office.

The bottom line is that Ried wants Coburn (Senator NO) neutered or gone! It's as simple as that.

I wonder if he would be allowed to ABORT babies for free?

He should ask for permission to do both, and watch their heads explode trying to figure out a response.

(note: I ony suggest ASKING for permission to do it, not to actually perform any baby killing)

Now, if he were providing FREE ABORTIONS . . . nothing would be said . . . he’d be a hero.

It seems inconsistent as long as Senators are allowed to peddle the books they write (or have ghost written), especially when they accept large advances.

For example:

>>
Financial terms were not disclosed, but a publishing official with knowledge of the negotiations said the agreement was comparable to the $8 million Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton received for “Living History” and the $9 million former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will reportedly get for his planned memoir.

The New York Times reported that Kennedy received an advance of more than $8 million.

Coburn cannot practice his profession on his on time..is that right?

But Harry Reid, et al, can manage and negotiate financial deals, probably even from his senate office on the phone...is that right?

What the hell? Congressmen can go on book tours, can hold stock (even on companies that their decisions can affect; see Feinstein), but they cannot practice medicine when in their district?
