Media Bias: So what if it took a "gutter" tabloid to expose a major Democratic presidential candidate scandal? So, the establishment media's shielding of John Edwards likely determined the party nomination.
You can smell the double standard.
While the New York Times aggressively pursued questionable allegations of an affair between Sen. John McCain and a lobbyist, it refused to sully its hands with the Edwards business.
Edwards being a Democrat and McCain the pending Republican nominee for president is mere coincidence, we're supposed to believe.
The Gray Lady's excuses were rolled out by the paper's public editor, Clark Hoyt.
Richard Stevenson, who directs New York Times campaign coverage, remarked: "We have finite resources." So says the newspaper with more than 35 news bureaus, well over 300 full-time reporters and hundreds of freelancers and stringers.
Executive Editor Bill Keller's defense of printing the dubious McCain allegations is that the newspaper's interest "was not in his private romantic life" but "in his relationship with lobbyists."

No wonder Hillary's folks (at the National Enquirer) are still going after him.

“Hillary Clinton camp blames John Edwards for ‘lie that laid them low’”
It’s all about her...and another cheatin’ rascal messing up her plans.
They want special legal protections because of the important work they do in bringing “truth” to the populace. One wonders how they look at themselves in the mirror.
How rich is that? The Clinton's slamming the MSM for covering up a dem scandal? Hell must have definitely frozen over!
Why does the image of an unwinding roll of toilet paper spring to mind after reading that sentence?
My fellow democrats. Earlier this year you gave this country the privilege of presenting to me a majority of votes from the people. It would have been much more, but that Florida and Michigan's votes were abregated to adulteration. I, for the life of me, do not know why the Chairman Dean would disenfranchise two major states making it impossible to win this year,...but he did. I will not raise the issue of the Vast Leftwing Conspiracy of the MSM who, with forethought and malice, did obfuscate with intent to defraud the people of a clean, informed election, but rather chose to collude with Mr.Obama and Mr.Edwards in a rank coverup just long enough to prevent the will of the people from being expressed in electing me as your candidate. Yes that is water under the bridge and I only remind you for reasons of historicity. You are the people. You are democrats worthy to be heard. You decide whether this deception deserves to remain unaddressed by the voters of the democratic primaries. That you were manipulated to vote against me by an Indonesian and a man who is fondly known as the Pony is a perception we all have to deal with in our own way. But we must all be together with this election to get our candidate elected.
No question, the election was stoled from Eva Braun’s darling daughter!
Hear, hear!!
The Democrats may not realize it yet, but they have found a VP candidate - John Edwards. They just have to figure out how to utilize his newly uncovered qualifications...mistress, love child, etc. All that’s missing at this point is his headline comment “I DID NOT HAVE SEX WITH THAT WOMAN” and he’s in!
The problem with the Wolfson/Hillary theory is that a poll taken in Iowa showed that a substantial majority of Edwards supporters had Obama as their second choice, not Hillary. If Edwards had been forced to drop out before Iowa, Hillary would have been a distant second.
Poor little Hildegard Schickelgruber!
