So, here is a curious thing. I have been reviewing books at Amazon for a few years now and never had the occasion to have one censored by Amazon.com. But, I just had two reviews in a row deleted by Amazon and it has caused me to wonder how often other conservatives have their reviews summarily eliminated from the Amazon site?
I have noticed, of course, that leftists use Amazon quite well to give conservative books a bad Amazon rating. In the past, whenever I wrote a positive review of a conservative book, for instance, I would be loaded up with negative votes on the review by Amazon visitors. But whenever I wrote a review of a non-political book, I got favorable votes on my review.
But, up until now, Ive never had a review completely deleted by Amazon.
The first review that was deleted by Amazon was for Speaker Nancy Pelosis failure of a book titled "Know Your Power: A Message to America's Daughters." This book is horrible and is horribly tanking at the booksellers.
I wrote the review on-line and posted it from the Amazon site. I did not save my review in a word document because I did not imagine that I would be censored. But, lets just suffice to say I hated her trite piece of garbage. Still, I did not call her names but I did say this (and I paraphrase from memory):
Some may recall the oft quoted and badly mauled Shakespeare quote that goes something to the effect that we should first kill all the lawyers. Well, I would like to paraphrase that saying and direct it to a profession more worthy of such a genocide. It would go thusly: First kill all the political book ghostwriters.
I know, I know. Im very clever. But, Amazon apparently didnt think so because the on-line bookseller deleted my review. And without so much as a by your leave, at that.
The next one I reviewed was for a music CD called Levittown, Go Out Dancing Part II (2008). This is a CD by Tony Careys occasional band Planet P Project. Carey is a self-loathing, ex-pat American that lives in Germany now and since 1983 his Plant P band has put out four albums.....

It would not shock me one bit.
Go to the blog on Amazon for Nancy’s new book. It’s all laid out there, deletions and all.
Amazon blog on Nancy’s book and review deletions.
Yes, I have had one review refused and a window popped up which said something about not allowing that. I was at the library and the time was over and I couldn’t go back when the window rejecting my completely innocent review, popped up.
I said nothing out of line and against rules, and
i was replying to a very bad review of the book of Jasher written by someone who had obviously not read it, with reasons why it was trustworthy.
Hope this helps.
Since then I have had second thoughts about more purchases from Amazon, as I have purchased lots of books from there in the past, and even many of them in quantity, as I give them to family members, but I think I may find a new source.
My negative review of Nancy Pelosi’s book was indeed deleted after two days.
Amazon has left negative reviews of The Obama Nation up, with no deletions.
I hate to say this, but if people are worrying about Amazon book reviews, then they need a new hobby.
I’m not familiar with Amazon, but I’ve noticed something else odd. I get quite a bit of political email, some unwelcome such as Pelosi. After several emails to her over the years in which I called her out of her name amongst other things, I have found myself on her mailing list. I have requested to be on McClintock’s mailing list. Pelosi’s emails come directly to my inbox sparkling in the sun. McClintock’s ALWAYS go into my spam folder. Every time. I’ve complained and complained. No response, and the automatic transfer to spam folder continues. Recently I got on Gallegy’s mailing list. Conservative. And you guess it. Straight to the spam folder. I was thinking it might have something to do with the manner in which the email is formatted, but the two look pretty different....
Obviously they haven’t gotten rid of every negative review. The book gets just 1.5 stars.
I use Amazon as a source of info, but I haven't bought anything from them for years. I support my local bookseller, and the nice tattooed lady who runs it.
Hmmmm...Planet P.
Isn’t that a Bug Planet?!
Where is Casper when you need him?
Yes, Amazon will also tie your screen name to your real name as well. Best be careful, or you will find that Amazon will make your personal info easy to find via a simple google search.
They are a reckless, arrogant organization in many ways.
I'm waiting for the huge class-action that'll entail, just because an arrogant liberal bully with some insider passwords at Amazon gets them into real trouble.
They've done it to me, and while I don't want their money, I'd be happy to help if someone who's been victimized decides to take action.
Advice to anyone who'd play on Amazon reviews--develop a separate and fake identity.
I’ve had reviews of marketing books pulled by the authors of the books. The authors said my reviews were unfair... that the other positive reviews by their friends were more “objective.”
Many “astute” authors line up a bunch of friends to manipulate their initial release to a best seller status. First come the Amazon reviews. Then the authors also offer discounts on purchasing their other products if they buy the new book. This fake “success” then gets orders from bookstores and others. Sort of like the fake pictures of China’s Olympic opening ceremonies.
I used to write a lot of reviews, but now have largely stopped.
You need to “read between the lines” when looking at Amazon reviews: look for the brother-in-law reviews. Always read the negative reviews closely. They are not always right, but they may offer clues to the quality of the book. Textbooks are often reviewed poorly by other professors.
Just a question....Did you actually read this book?
Consider that most if not all who post reviews about this book have not read it. They cannot directly quote or address any topic raised in said book, nor can they offer a competent rebuttal to any specific assertion.
So from Amazon’s position, I’m going to take down any posting that attacks the book if it appears that they have not read it.
If I were Amazon, I wouldn’t allow anybody to post a review of any book if they didn’t buy it on Amazon. leaving it open for anyone to comment is a recipe for this sort of foolishness.
Currently at #4487 on the Amazon list.....LOL!
I read that, and yet I still didn't see it.
Better yet, are you a sadomasochist? I can't imagine actually reading such tripe without my head exploding. I have tried to read some of the liberal books that have come out, and I just can't get past a chapter or two of them.
