The woman John Edwards admitted to having an affair with made disparaging comments about Edwards' wife Elizabeth in an interview two years ago, says the New York Post.
Talking to Newsweek reporter Jonathan Darman in late 2006, Rielle Hunter reportedly said, "[Elizabeth] does not give off good energy," and accused: "She didn't make eye contact with me."
Hunter, a filmmaker, was documenting Edwards' presidential campaign at the time. She spoke with Newsweek's Darman after getting fired, reportedly telling him of Elizabeth: "Someday, the truth about her is going to come out."
When Darman spoke again with Hunter last summer, she reportedly said she was in love, but wouldn't identify with whom, says the Post.
Edwards released a statement to ET saying that his affair with Hunter "took place for a short period in 2006. It ended then."
Elizabeth, who is presently battling cancer, affirmed her support for her husband in a separate statement, after news of the affair broke.

I think Rielle is right; someday the truth about Elizabeth will come out.
“[Elizabeth] does not give off good energy,”
bad girl!
Perhaps she just doesn't enjoy being around tramps
Check out the big brain on Rielle!
So, I guess, they met at the Beverly Hills Hilton because he'd left his toothbrush at her place and he needed to get it back.
Right?
Which tramp? Edwards or Rielle?
If Elizabeth Edwards would claw out Hunters eyes, she won't be concerned about who is making eye contact with her.
Though Elizabeth has far too much class to claw.
The truth is out now. Elizabeth is not hiding, the sleazy Hunter is in hiding.
What a despicable wench she is.
“What a despicable wench she is.”
Dissing a cancer victim while coveting the neighbor’s lover lips. Bad karma.
Karma is a bitch!
;)
Elizabeth learned in 2006 about Hunter...
BUT continued to support his run for President (perhaps thinking no one would find out)...
BUT thought it appropriate to trash Hillary and Bill on the subject of marital fidelity...
BUT sat in the crowd taking compliments during his Man of the Year award in 2007...
BUT put on public display a wedding ceremony renewal celebrating their 30 years of marriage...
BUT did not demand Andrew Young take a paternity test, as Young professed that he is the father...
BUT does not now demand that Reille Hunter take a paternity test (as her husband said in an ABC interview) that he would be perfectly willing to do...
BUT does not inquire where Reille Hunter’s monthly payments (even NOW) are coming from...
BUT does not ask her husband how many times he has visited Hunter since the baby has been born...
BUT does not respond to his statement that his affair occurred during her remission??????
ELIZABETH EDWARDS IS AS BIG A SLIMEBUCKET AS HER HUSBAND.
I am sorry, however, that she has terminal cancer. On the other hand, total honesty BY HER would be in order now.
Women, Hunter and a few others excluded, are smart. I know too many women who met an acquaintance or employee of their husband, and instinctively did not trust them. Each of them discovered later that their husband either was already involved with them, or got involved with them later. Never mistrusts your gut feelings. “Bad energy” came from the gut.
I remember how funny it was when Elizabeth tried to go after Ann Coulter in the media.
That didn’t work.
Will Elizabeth go after Rielle?
Unfortunately for Rielle, the truth about Rielle has already come out, and it’s not pretty. Utterly vacuous, utterly devoid of ethics, and now trying to make a career of being the “filmmaker” that John Edwards had an affair with. I strongly suspect she was part of the information chain that tipped off the National Enquirer about the latest hotel rendezvous.
Frankly, I do not believe for one second that Fwords confessed to Elizabeth in 2006. And it SURE AS HELL did not end in 2006. It ended in late July 2008 when the Enquirer busted silky all sweaty in his t-shirt holding his love child.
Man of the Year? I thought he was the Sexiest Woman Alive?
Good for her then. Ending Silky’s political career is a fine service to the USA.
I think Elizabeth is having too much fun watching the National Enquirer go after Rielle, to bother doing any going-after of her own.
Oh please. I’m sure John ‘channeled’ Elizabeth that information ASAP.
