“If this is true, the dealers didn’t get there in time and the mayor picked up the package quite innocently, which in turn led to the raid.”

Thats what I’ve heard happens. In another case the post office ran their drug dogs thru and found a package. It was addressed to a military guy. When he accepted the package they did the whole dynamic entry. Took him 3 weeks to get his kids back and 3 years to fight the charges. They kept threatening him with loss of custody unless he plead guilty.

First they charged him with dealing. When that fell thru and the feds refused prosecution the local idiots tried for possession. Their argument was since he was holding the package he had possession.

IMO any reasonable person knows this is wrong. However its probably easier to get a conviction with these than real police work. Added to the excitement of playing with automatic weapons and a dynamic entry and you have all kinds of fun.

Actually I suspect this raid was some sort of political payback. Maybe the mayor had refused to pay up.

I was wondering that myself - office politics gone horribly wrong.

The consistency of the raids across the country shows that the Officers Of The Law are following their training exactly.

The assassination of the second dog shows this is a policy. The first may have presented a threat that could justify shooting it. However, the second was running for his life and the thug just ran him down and butchered him. There's no way that would have happened if the thug wasn't following some kind of instructions.

Sounds like a case of "don't get mad, get even". Mail him something illegal and alert law enforcement. Nasty stuff.

“The assassination of the second dog shows this is a policy”

When SWAT teams were first created it was for the highly dangerous hostage situations. Now its to control the Mayors black lab.

Dare to object and you are a cop hater.

One of these days the jbts will hit a house belonging to some moderately suspcicious survivalist type who believes that the "government is out to get him," and who has taken proper defensive precautions.

If your imaginary survivalist survives the encounter after taking a few of these idiots down, they'll bury him in so many charges, slander him in the media, and snowflake everyone who's ever even said 'hello' to him.

Does the name "Randy Weaver" mean anything to you?

I have two strong personal reasons for feeling as I do about this atrocity, one half Chocolate Lab and half Weimaraner, and the other Half Black Lab and half Pit. Both are absolute sweet loves.

randy weaver was setup by the Feds. They hired him to cut the barrels off some shotguns. He was dirt poor and did it for the money. Then they tried to turn him into an informer. It was a total setup from beginning to end.

The same agents involved in this event were at waco. They received commendations for shooting innocents in both places.

‘They do this to a few more upper class white people, and it will change.”

its done all the time to white people. its not a racial issue but a abuse of power issue.

I agree with you but it really shouldn’t make any difference. Unless the dog is attacking there should be no action. use of deadly force is a pretty serious event. There was no need for the SWAT team either. However once you have SWAT teams you have to use them.

Our law enforcement agencies have been militarized and see force as the optimium tool in any situation.

Kind of a snotty tone there good buddy. If you read my post, I didn't say that anyone who defends himself from this sort of home invasion would be in a good place, merely that the JBTs would not be high fiving and bragging about how "exciting" it was.

ease up junkman - I agree with you - I was being totally sarcastic - I thought that it was obvious - Prince Gearge’s County is a waste of geography.

Sorry. It wasn't meant to be.

I just meant that, as much as I'd support them, anyone who whacked a few wannabe 'ninja' cops would find themselves buried in so many charges it'd take a very competent attorney a year to read all the filings.

Not to mention the fact that some other illegal substances, guns, or kiddie porn would most likely 'magically' appear a la the infamous Atlanta Raid.

merely that the JBTs would not be high fiving and bragging about how "exciting" it was.

I completely agree. I don't think they'd like the kind of 'excitement' they'd be the recipients of.

I didn't mean to give offense. You and I seem to be in complete agreement. This crap has GOT to stop. While there may be justification for the occassional 'no-knock', such as a hostage or verified terrorist situation, they're nearly never justified in these situations.

Everyone involved in this little 'raid', including the Sheriff himself should be facing criminal charges for Federal Civil Rights violations.

Once some of these goons and their bosses get some serious prison time for this crap, the rest of them will most likely get with the program.

“Dare to object and you are a cop hater.”

Call me a cop hater then. A similar incident happened to me in 2006, and I’ve sued those involved.

I was probably being too sensitive. What you say is no doubt true, but sooner or later they're going to run up against someone who doesn't care about that and has some party novelties prepared just for the occasion. Cops and cop suckers will tell you how cops risk their lives every day, but they don't. There are a number of more dangerous professions including commercial fishing, truck driving, construction work, etc. The police expectation is that they get to wave their guns around and mayby shoot someone or failing that shoot someone's pet, but they don't really expect have any high degree of risk. If they wanted risk while shooting at someone they could have joined the military, not the police.

Of course with PG County being close to Washington DC, there is a precedent about mayors using drugs.
