She called him "Love Lips" - and visited her "somewhat dysfunctional married man" in North Carolina.
A new report reveals that former party girl and John Edwards mistress Rielle Hunter wrote e-mails chronicling her affair with presidential wannabe John Edwards.
Early in April 2006, Hunter e-mailed a pal about a trip down South to visit Edwards and discussed the downside of "being in love with a (still somewhat dysfunctional) married man," according to The Huffington Post.
The revelation came as Hunter, 42, broke her silence for the first time yesterday to let Edwards off the hook.
She will not pester her ex-lover to take a DNA test to establish once and for all the paternity of her 5-month-old daughter, her lawyer said.
Hunter, 42, does not wish to take a genetic test "now or in the future," attorney Robert Gordon said in a statement.
During an interview Friday in which he copped to the fling, Edwards said the "timing of events" indicate that the child, born on Feb. 27, 2008, could not be his.
"Happy to take a paternity test and would love to see it happen," he said.
But Hunter's stance is that she would prefer to "maintain her privacy and her daughter's privacy," Gordon said.
The mother did not list the father's name on little Frances Quinn Hunter's birth certificate.
Barry Levine, editor of The National Enquirer, which broke the news of the affair, told The Post yesterday: "Up to this hour, I can tell you from our sources, she's believing that eventually she and John Edwards will be together and this will all work out."
Dismissing the paternity issue lets some of the immediate pressure off Edwards - but likely not for long.

Here it goes...
ugly from here on out
A slut stands up for her rake...
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
3 gossipy females writing this?
“Up to this hour, I can tell you from our sources, she’s believing that eventually she and John Edwards will be together and this will all work out.”
Edwards: “Sleep with me and I’ll make you a STAR, Baby!”
According to the Inquirer the mistress is waiting in the wings for Elizabeth to pass on so she and Breck Boy can marry.
I believe they both know he is the father or she wouldn't be refusing the test. Meanwhile Johnny boy can profess he "welcomes" a DNA test.
There fixed it, thank you very much.
It’s pretty clear that Love Lips visited his Lady in LA to assure her that once his old lady dies of her terminal cancer, they will be able to celebrate their love, so no need to go public now or do anything silly like take paternity tests on the love child.
That's good enough for me. (sarcasm - duh!)
Will Mrs Andrew Young give the next interview?
Looking forward to it!
I wonder if we should now refer to the National Inquirer as the newspaper of record.
Just guessing but I think the meeting was arranged because she was demanding more $$$$$.
Most things usually boil down to that..
All these problems will resolve themselves as soon as he can get Elizabeth her dirt nap.
One way or the other; either through hopes of a future together or payola, Edwards was able to defiantly say he’d take the paternity test KNOWING ahead of time that she wouldn’t allow it.
She is definitely in the driver's seat.
Biologically speaking, I am surprised that Ms. Hunter/Drake found herself accidentally pregnant at her age, especially if she has lived the wild life that has been reported. Most women at that age/condition would have to “enduce” their body to become pregnant. Fourty two is late for a first time pregnancy. Possible but curious.
She’s been paid a LOT of money.....has she paid TAXES on it??
B.S. This just invites the press to investigate the paternity even more...If they're interested. I happened to think the NI has more stuff!
Someone will find out somehow, because ole John isn't visting this babe at 2am in the morning for coffee and crumpets!
