Didn't see this elsewhere. This guy was cool.

Didn’t see a lot of him, but what I did see, yes, he was funny and cool. And only 50 years old. Far too young. Rest in peace, Bernie.

I was very surprised there wasn’t an earlier thread on this. I thought the guy was hysterically funny. The “Kings of Comedy” stuff is gold. Major bummer, and relatively young too.

His humor was drawn from life.....a tough life.
One of the few authentic stand up comedians - he will be missed.

"Mac died Saturday morning of complications from pneumonia"
This question is out of ignorance, how does one get pneumonia in Aug?

Bernie Mac had sarcoidosis, apparently.
From Wiki:
Sarcoidosis, also called sarcoid (from the Greek sarx, meaning "flesh") or Besnier-Boeck disease, is an immune system disorder characterized by non-caseating granulomas (small inflammatory nodules) that most commonly arises in young adults. The cause of the disease is still unknown. Virtually any organ can be affected; however, granulomas most often appear in the lungs or the lymph nodes. Symptoms can occasionally appear suddenly but usually appear gradually. The clinical course generally varies and ranges from asymptomatic disease to a debilitating chronic condition that may lead to death.
