It’s shocking and very sad. Obviously the relatives were proud and delighted of their coach’s accomplishments and were there to share in what was to have been a big moment in his life .. then this.
Why they’d have to have worn any apparel indicating they were part of the US delegation for the perp to have figured out that they were Americans doesn’t make sense ... you can always pick out Americans in any crowd. But I DO think it was the lone act of the perp.
The Chinese government is probably mortified that a violent crime happened during their Olympics. It may choose at another time to wipe out millions of us in a single stroke, but a single violent crime during their moment of internaitonal glory is not what they want.
