The Associated Press announced Thursday that it would be expanding its entertainment coverage with a multi-million dollar investment in a celebrity news service.

The new service, called "Celebrity Extra," will focus on A-list celebrities. A video version of the service launched Wednesday for global broadcast and video markets. A photo version will launch next month.

"Entertainment is a significant growth area -– particularly for visual images of the top stars," said AP Directior of Entertainment Dan Becker in a statement. "We bring a unique combination of video, photos and text to the market, providing coverage with a global reach."

AP announced that it would be investing in additional staff and new video technology in New York, Los Angeles and London to help produce the new content.

Oh, Thank God! That’s JUST what America needs. Even MORE celebrity coverage, LOL!

Doesn’t anyone actually SEE the “Dumbing Down” of America? I mean, it’s in your FACE every d@mn day! Grrrr!

The AP haven’t even tried reporting the news in more than 8 years of Republican rule. If a dog walked by, they would report it as “George W Bush tried to kick poor dog.” Their BDS is 2nd to none.
