Denver: Protesters change park plans

DENVER, Colorado — Organizers of Tent State University said today they are moving their protest from City Park to Cuernavaca Park.

The 29-acre Cuernavaca Park is surrounded by Interstate 25, the Mailwell envelope factory, 20th Street and the HOV (high occupancy vehicle) fly-over, railroad tracks and the Flour Mill Lofts. It was planned as a neighborhood park for the Highland community.

It was also announced that the city is making the parking lot of the Denver Coliseum, 4600 Humboldt St., available to the group for overnight camping.

The group of mostly college-age demonstrators had initially wanted to hold their concerts and programs and camp overnight in City Park, sparking an outcry from neighbors and concerns from city officials. Overnight camping isn't allowed in Denver's urban parks.

Tent State organizers have said say they expect about 50,000 people to participate in anti-war demonstrations from Aug. 24-27 during the Democratic National Convention.

Jojo Pease, a spokeswoman for the group, said organizers made the decision to go someplace other than City Park after holding more than 25 meetings with neighborhood groups, the Denver Zoo, police, city officials and others.

"Organizers feel that listening to concerns of the community that you're going into is something that we need to do because one of our biggest problems with the government ... is that they don't listen to us," she said.

"So, for us to not listen to what other people are saying would be completely hypocritical. In light of that and in light of other events that have happened ... we have decided to move to a different permanent area."

This where the Denver Stock Show is held. It is also very near the big Purina Dog Food plant, which is quite stinky. It will be quite a contest between the protesters and the dog food manufacturer as to which is smellier.

I want my money back.

I took your headline in good faith and clicked on the link. Nowhere did I find any interesting news on crap-cannons.

False advertising.

From what I've heard, the range on babies has been extended. There are also rumors of crap-cannon drones.

There is no escape.

RE: Crap Cannon - “Activists planning protests at the forthcoming Democratic National Convention in Denver are wary of a police weapon they refer to as “Crap Cannon.” Luckily for them, it doesn’t exist. Fox News filed this report: Also called “Brown Note,” [the cannon] is believed to be an infrasound frequency that debilitates a person by making them defecate involuntarily.

Mark Cohen, co-founder of Re-create 68, an alliance of local activists working for the protection of first amendment rights, said he believes this could be deployed at the convention in August to subdue crowds...

The demonstrators won’t make the DemocRATS smell any better even with poop cannons and urine balloons. Better to donate stalin masks to them! It would make them look better than they are!

If these kids really wanted to make a stink; they would be better served to change the venue to where Obambi plans to accept the nomination. I do not know if there canons can launch over the walls of the stadium, but if they can! That would be the moment.

Crap cannons are designed to effect the bowels of leftist protesters only. If they were let loose at Invesco Field? Oh, my. 'Overflow' would be an understatement.
