I don’t know if any remain. I thought they were all out, but someone else said we still had some there. I hope not.

Absolutely right.

In fact, its a mystery how Saakashvili could have duped himself and his country into believing that he could launch an attack against russian troops, destroy their bases, and yet avoid massive and prompt russkie retaliation.

More yet, it is a mystery how he imagines that he can fool the US into a war with Russia! This war was his idea, and he can live with it! If youre planning to rely on other people to save your fanny when you toss it into the flames, at least be good enough to let em know in advance!

Speaking of the FSB, how much you want to bet Sakashvili will”Accidentally” end up eating polomium, or some other such obscure poison for breakfast one of these days? Either that, or hes going to run to the nearest US embassy for protection very soon.

Yes, your correct. Or he may get Jimmy Hoffa style and become part of the base of a new Russian monument in Putin’s honor of liberating the Ossetians

Does [1400 dead] sound possible?

Nineteen semiliterate Bedouins killed than twice that number using improvised stolen weapons. The British could have killed that many at the Battle of Lexington and Concord. Fortunately, they didn't want to. More than one pundit has pointed out that Ghandi was lucky his opponents were Britians and not Nazis. In De Bellico Gallico Caesar boasted of killing 140,000 Helvetians, men, women and children in one day.

Civilian causualities are almost always limited by the restrain of military leaders, not means at hand.

Russian military marching through Georgia. If the supreme Russian commander’s last name is Shermansky, I’m going to freak out.

Especially if he makes it all the way to Savannah.

According to FNC (unless I misheard) there have been 1400+ deaths so far. Does that sound possible?

No offense, but only an American, influenced by the MSM's fantasy that nobody should be killed when militaries go to war, could find it alarming that large numbers of people die when ordnance is exchanged between combatant forces.

The truth is that if you are in the line of fire there is a good chance you will get wounded or killed without regard as to whether you are a combatant or not.

It is a world game. We have been sitting at the table for a hundred years, you don’t just pick up your chips and throw in your cards because you don’t like the game. I will never understand you head in the sand isolationist.

Yes, and the world game started with an assassination of an Archduke. The tangles of alliances proceeded to ignite the First World War.

Are you will to risk this over South Ossetia? The red dots are nuclear targets.

Think carefully before you answer. IMO we do not have a dog in this fight.

Just like we didn’t have a “dog in the fight” when Hitler marched into the Rhineland...and into Austria...and Czechoslovakia...
