Maybe there's going to be some kind of news release or press conference in the next couple of weeks, based upon whatever "startling new information" he pretends to learn from white granny during this Hawaii vacation. Anything that he needs to try to clean up before November, he can attribute to "I just learned this from my dear granny while reminiscing about old times this week......"
Or, if it's something truly dangerous to his electoral prospects, he can throw granny in front of the cameras and have her tearfully explain whatever was kept from young Barack all these years (sic) and how it's not his fault etc.
Could be Barack's version of the Nixon "Checkers Speech" if the issues are serious enough......
My understanding is America doesn’t acknowledge the concept of dual citizenship. If you’re a citizen here you’re a citizen here, pay your taxes or else. What other countries want to believe about you isn’t our problem.
Really we can’t ban people from being president just because of dual citizenship. Since we have no control over other countries’ definitions of citizenship. If we banned dual citizens other countries could invalidate our candidates just by declaring them citizens.
I can already hear the MSM whining about obama being 'swift birthed'
I haven’t read through the thread yet...have you seen this?
And he thinks the Islamic call to prayer is the most beautiful sound on earth.
And the evidence that he was born in Kenya is...?
Not that it matters. Kenya Constitution doesn't allow for dual citizenship.
This was in a Houston based online news paper back in June. USAfricaonline.com
I was glad to have copied their banner headline back then as It probably has disapared by now.
Line of work. Hmmm. Like having your finger on the Nations nuclear button, and having the Armed Forces under your control?
Commander in Chief is a job, isn't it?
I'm pretty sure GW Bush gets a paycheck.
You nailed it there, didn’t you.
All his cheerleaders (MSM) will fall into step behind him, and his supporters will go on about how it wasn’t his fault, he didn’t know, blah, blah, blah.
Pardon me while I go throw up.
:-(

Close up:
One is natural-born according to the statutory requirements for citizenship-at-birth at the time of one’s birth. Dual citizenship, whether at birth or acquired later, does not preclude American-citizenship-at-birth.
The words in the Constitution may have had the purpose of excluding subjects of the King, but the words don’t say that that’s the only purpose.
It’s not an issue of whether he would be legally ‘banned’ from being President — it’s that being acknowledged as a dual citizen (and having withheld that info from the public) could very likely harm his electoral prospects..... especially with some of those “bitter” white working class drones so despised but so needed by Obambi.... you know, the ones still “clinging” to their religion and guns. Some of THOSE people might not be inclined to vote for a Kenyan (or Indonesian) citizen to be POTUS. Shame on them. /s
One cannot pledge allegiance to two countries at one time. It's time to do away with dual-citizenship
and/or prohibit those with dual citizenship from holding office. That goes for the California Austrian, as well.
Bump!
The USC doesn’t forbid someone with dual citizenship from becoming president. They must simply be a citizen of the USA.
Honestly I think the constitutional scholars around FR must have sent away cereal box tops for their law degrees.
A natural born citizen over age 35 that is. It doesn’t forbid those with dual citizenship.
Dual citizenship was first tolerated by US appellate courts in 1984. Prior to 1984, sole allegiance was required. Acquisition and recognition of a second citizenship was considered split allegiance and not permitted.
“I have dual citizenship (U.S. and Irish), but I am a natural-born American citizen.”
Are you naturalized citizen?
Don’t you have to give up one citizenship to go into politics?
My mother has dual citizenship too. (US and British)
She lived in this country since 1950.
Naturalized US citizen can run for local and state politics.
She could run for Congress or Senate seat.
Question: What are the requirements to become a member of the U.S. Senate?
Answer: The requirements for becoming a United States Senator are defined precisely in the United States Constitution. The provisions related to the Senate are found in Article 1, Section 3.
Here they are: 1) you must be at least 30 years old, 2) you must be a citizen of the United States for at least nine years, and 3) you must be a citizen of the state for which you are running as a candidate for the senate. (US Const, Art 1, Sec 3, Cl 3)
In case you’re wondering about the House of Representatives, the requirements are similar. You must be at least 25 years old instead of 30 and have been a citizen for seven years instead of nine. (US Const, Art 1, Sec 2, Cl 2)

Arnold could run for Gov of CA but he can’t run for POTUS because he is naturalized.
“Natural-born” means a citizen at the moment of birth. Which is what I am. I have Irish citizenship because my grandfather was born in Ireland, and my mother obtained the necessary papers from the government of Ireland for all of her children. My sister has even travelled on an Irish passport.
If Obama was born in Hawaii, he is a natural-born citizen. If he was NOT born in Hawaii, he was not a citizen at birth. If he was naturalized, he is a citizen, but ineligible to be President. If he was never naturalized, he isn’t even a citizen!—and of course, ineligible to be President.
