He’s not very good, either. He’s pro-choice as the pro-death people like to call themselves.

Ridge also has a bad record on taxes. When PA had a surplus, he set up a "rainy day fund" instead of refunding the money to the taxpayers. Of course, when Democrat Fast Eddie Rendell got into office, every day was a rainy day.

Let's not go there.

Palin / Cantor: My top two choices.

Not exactly. I couldn’t excerpt the entire article, but Richard Land goes nuclear against Tom Ridge and Joe Lierberman as VP choices.

McCain is the kind of “maverick” who would pick Tom Ridge just to show how independent he really is.

But Land is drawing a line in the sand.

I think Ridge may help McCain carry Pennsylvania and Ohio, so he may ignore the warning.

Tom Ridge is a good guy alright, but he’s dull as burned toast.

You really think burnt toast is that dull? I really hope it's not Tom Ridge.

Liberals love to read this because it points to more divisions in the GOP. In similar fashion, conservatives love to read how Nadar or some other group might cause division among the Democrats.

I think this is the kind of story that a lot of Evangelicals and Baptists like to read. Richard Land has some influence, no? What don’t you like about him or the article?

I wouldn't know much about Richard Land. He's not someone I care much about or pay much attention to. Further, I didn't say I didn't like anything about Ricard Land or the article.

The headline is a lot more confrontational than Mr. Land’s actual comments warrant. I think he’s offering McCain some very good advice. Eric Cantor is an excellent young man and I would be proud to vote for him. I like Palin and Mitt too. I think Tom Ridge would be a disaster...it would be very hard for me to vote for a McCain/Ridge ticket. I probably would but it would be painful.

Actually Ridge is pretty militant in his pro abortion beliefs. He refuses to back down at all. He is totally unacceptable.

The title says Evangelical Leader Warns, yet the body text and quotes are all encouragement about options, not warnings.

Exactly!

I'm anxiously awaiting Baptist Mike Huckabee's brilliant assessment why it's acceptable to vote for a Jew and not a Mormon?

I think he's busy raising money for Conservatives, but I am sure that it has something to do with LDS doctrine worshipping one god while Baptists worship a different G-d.

Good grief. Has no one figured it out yet? Nobody cares what anybody may want. McCain is gonna do whatever he wants because you have no place to go.

Don’t like Romney? Too bad. Don’t like Cantor? Too bad. Don’t like Huck? Too bad. Don’t like Palin. Too bad. Don’t like Pawlenty? Don’t like Ridge or Lieberman? Too bad, etc. Get it yet?

Otherwise you are an Obamaite. /s

I’ve said it once. I’ll say it again. McCain is closing the gap, but it’s still close if he wants to put it over the top he NEEDS to pick a right-winger. A ginned up base will bury Obama in “contrast” ads that will make his head spin.

If not, McCain may still squeak in there, but he’ll ONLY have little ol’Sean Hannity to thank.

My thinking is that for every pro-life vote he may lose, Ridge would probably garner two from the pro-choice side.

I would like to see the polling that McCain is doing regarding McCain-Ridge vs. McCain-Cantor. Who would carry Pennsylvania?

Cheney keeps a low profile, but it’s no part-time job, at least not if it’s being done well. And remember 9/11, when Cheney and many other senior political leaders had to be rushed into a bunker and stay there for several days. And the campaign trail is absolutely a 24/7 proposition.

I like Cantor, and not just because he’s Jewish. I have seen him on TV and he can be a real attack dog, something McCain needs. I wonder if Palin can do that.

Excuse me? I AM an evangelical. Not a Baptist and I vote my conscience, so endorsements don’t move me. However, I am interested to see what leaders of all stripes have to say about the elections. So we threaten our way through life?

I have been wondering why a non Christian Jew, Eric Cantor, is getting a push from those who will not accept Mitt Romney as a candidate based on their belief that Mormons are not Christian. Also, has anybody run this latest Vice President find past the 9 million evangelicals that we are told hold the Republican party hostage to their approval of a candidates religious affiliation? I personally cannot be pushed any further with this nonsense. Are Republicans to accept less than a top tier person for our party because of blackmail from one group of religious followers? Pick the right person for the job and let the chips fall where they may.
