A racially charged Democratic primary campaign ended Thursday with an incumbent congressman trouncing the opponent who ran an ad linking him to the Ku Klux Klan.
Early, unofficial results showed Democrat Steve Cohen with 79 percent of the vote to 19 percent for Nikki Tinker, a black corporate lawyer who was his chief opponent in the district that covers Memphis.

The race-baiter loses. That should send a message to those who claim "skinny" is a racist term.

Congratulations to Cohen for taking the high road and his support of keeping the Forrest monument.

I'm no fan of Steve Cohen, however Tinker would be another Cynthia McKinna.
Tinker represent that portion of blacks that cannot bear to share power with whites.

Sure, just like that rumor a few years ago that the Snapple people were anti-black because the “K” on their bottles was for “KKK.” (No joke, this really was the rumor.)

She sure did. He
supported not renaming a park named for Forrest and she tried to turn it racial. Just more ridiculous Dem race politics.
To: Straight Vermonter
Really, no foolin’.
Even Harold Ford, Jr., AND the chosen one denounced her.

Cohen better enjoy the next 2 years cause as a member of his district, blacks will get a “real” candidate next election and he will be gone.
You gotta be some kind of bad for a white to beat a black in this district.
Whoever wins the democratic nomination automatically will win the general.

Yep! Though Cohen has been pandering like crazy for two years, he did the right thing on the Forrest monument. I’m surprised he won so easily. It’s a safe liberal ‘Rat district, but at least we won’t be stuck with another Cynthia McKinney type nitwit.

My college educated, UT-Austin grad sister-in-law refuses to have anything to do with businesses that have more than one ‘K’ in there name because it means they support the KKK.
I found this out by asking her to go to Krispy Kreme one day. Argh.

Does that mean Kris Kringle wears a white sheet the rest of the year?

Update:
Steve Cohen went on to intercede with the State Department on behalf of a fellow named Carlos Bledsoe, otherwise known as Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, who was being held in a Yemeni prison for possession of a fraudulent Somali passport. Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad is an African-American convert to Islam who attended the same Yemeni Damaj Institute as “Johnny Taliban” aka John Walker-Lindh and other radicalized converts, and who looks to be linked to the Columbus Ohio cell’s Nuradin Abdi, Iyman Faris, and Christopher Paul, all of whom are currently serving time. Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad is known for his June 2009 act of murdering a US military recruiter in Little Rock, Arkansas and wounding another.
