I am very proud of President Bush's frankness on human rights on the eve of the Olympics. Hopefully, the message will get through to Beijing...

Wow! Where was this over the last 8 years? Wait, this is the president that liberated two nations. Nevermind.

I can think of 10,000 reasons to not like Bush, but I share none of them with the MSM nor Liberals.

To make me proud, he needs to snub meeting the Chinese dictators, get back on Air Force 1, and show up in the oval office with a proclamation calling Congress back into session for the sole and specific purpose of dealing with the domestic energy production crisis.

He should announce a “State of the Union” message - with a demand for all-network coverage - and excoriate Congress for their obfuscation and obstructionism while America suffers under its result. And he should DEMAND an up-or-down vote on drilling for American oil wherever American oil can be found.

And finally, he should inform Congress that if they fail to vote and attempt to leave Washington, he will recall them - daily if necessary - right up until the day their replacements are sworn in. That might put a crimp in their campaigns!

His “New Tone” has been an utter failure. Forbearance has been interpreted as ignorance, and soft responses as weakness. The President’s enemies - not “opponents” or “adversaries”, both of which imply some level of honorable behavior - attack with impunity, hurling frightful accusations and insults with the sure knowledge that there will be no response. In fact, the President’s approval ratings are at record lows, with only Congress itself viewed less favorably, and impeachment hearings are already in process.

What else are they going to do? America needs this, and President Bush needs to find the courage to make it happen.
