With these two candidates, I feel like a guy that that has to choose between to prostitutes for involuntary sex. One has AIDS, the other gonorrhea.

Some choice, huh?

McCain needs to get to DC and express support for the House Reps. And again call for the President to call back Congress into special session, and lobby other Republicans in the Senate and House to get on board.

That’s the leadership that is called for now, and that would jack up his favorables with the voting population over the Tire Gauge Guru.

More evidence of micromanagement with the full force of the federal government behind it.

I cannot vote for a man like that for President.

Looks more and more like I will be sitting this one out.

Not voting for McCain put Obama right smack dab in the oval office. I’d rethink my position if I were you.

The power of Congress continues to amaze me. Now McCain proposes that we stop a German company from hiring an American company to fly their packages around.

Maybe instead he should go to Berlin and give a speech.

The purchase of Airborne by the foreigners may well have been illegal, but the justice department just covered its eyes.

Anti-trust laws have never saved the consumer a buck. I’m willing to be dissuaded, but nobody has come forward with any analysis to the contrary.

And I feel in much a better position to persuade McCain of the counterproductivity of antitrust than I am to convince The One of such folly.

Gee, Fred Smith must be on the short list after all.

Charlie Rose interview with McCain, 11/27/2007

McCain: ... bring in the brightest and the smartest people you can find in America.

ROSE: Who do you think they are? In other words - who would you like to see - name me a person that you think would be appropriate -- one of four or five -- to run the Pentagon, the Pentagon...

McCain: Fred Smith

ROSE: Federal Express guy. He's the kind of guy you'd like to see run the Pentagon?

McCain: Sure. John Chambers.

ROSE: John Chambers. Cisco

McCain: Yeah. All of these people that have - I'd ask Warren Buffett to come back and run a commission to reform the institutions of government.

My subcontractor in Countryside, IL sent a package on a Friday for delivery before noon on Monday...via DHL. After they took his money for that level of service, I discovered on Monday afternoon that Pocatello no longer has that level of service. The package made it somewhere well south of Salt Lake City, then was handed to the U.S. Postal Service. It arrived on my front porch on Friday afternoon...7 days after it had been shipped.

DHL is off our list as a shipper. I use FedEx when it must be there overnight. UPS is my preferred ground shipper. My last UPS overnight was left on the truck in Pocatello. It turned into 2 day service. UPS made good...they refunded the entire shipping fee.

One of my suppliers in Texas uses UPS exclusively. He ships Russian kettlebells. UPS reimburses a loss should that occur. FedEx does not. It's pretty simple for him. The shipping costs are nearly has high as the value of the product. A guaranteed delivery or reimbursement is the only thing that makes sense. When I received a 53 lb KB in place of the 70 lb KB I ordered, the shipper agreed to let me keep it for just the cost of the shipping AND shipped the right one the next day.

The popular vote for POTUS in the fall election is meaningless. The President will be elected by the Electors of the Electoral College. Your opportunity to affect the election of the POTUS passed with the primaries. See Article 2, Section 1 of the US Constitution for details.

Your vote in your Congressional district, state and local elections are very important come November. Please don't throw that way. Real conservative change will come from those areas, not from who sits in the Whitehouse......

So you think that if the owners of a company want to sell it to somebody else, that the government should step in and stop them from selling their own property? How would you like it if the government stopped you from selling your house, or your car, or some stock you own?

I've been a customer of K2 Fitness in the past to order some good quality kettlebells. K2 has used DHL as their shipper of choice for years. When DHL announced that Pocatello was off their list, I sent a note to the folks at K2 to let them know. It turns out they were ahead of the game. The guy who runs the company is a pilot for DHL. He found out his job was outsourced to UPS at the end of May. He is switching to UPS. That works for me. I like the quality of their kettlebell products.
