“Where did we go wrong?”
Your Holocaust generation gave way to your liberals.

Olmert is an appeaser and the equivalent of those Jewish leaders who lead them right to the Warsaw Ghetto. You bet things are wrong in Israel when the settlers are treated like villains just because they are more religious than liberal Tel Aviv Jews.

"where did we go wrong?" Where you went wrong was letting other countries like Europe and sad to say the USA get involved in your politics and judgments on self preservation. You are still a great nation but were greater back when you were independent of this PC world. In my humble opinion.

Arieh Eldad comes from the Religious Zionist school. I agree with everything he said. Today Israel's is not the Israel we once knew.

I agree, if he’ll turn a deaf ear to the idiots in the U.S.
I think that’s what got him in trouble the last time.
He’s a good thinker IMO, when he’s given his own head.

He is between a rock and a hard place it seems. He can't do what he would like to because of pressure from American who is also one of their few protectors, if not the ONLY one. They lose half their strength if we pull away from them. I'm not an expert on this but that is the way it seems to me. Like when during the Iraq war the Arabs were shooting rockets into Israeli towns and the US asked them not to retaliate. And they did not. Actually we should have let them cream their enemy which is our enemy also.

When Bush stated that anyone who was a terrorist, helped or harbored terrorists should be very afraid, I thought he actually meant it. We sure didn't mean Fatah, Hezballah, or Hamas did we.

Never be ashamed to be an Israeli. Israel has a great deal to be proud of and has become a great nation in spite of the tragic lack of support from too many of the world’s governments.
Be upset with your leadership if you will and elect new and better ones while enlisting support from those who remember the struggles of independence through present day.
Never forget never again.

I agree that it was a big mistake. I may not be aware of some actions that were taken, but it seems to me we really made some fundamental mistakes since then.
It’s one thing to hold off on taking it to folks that some would consider to be Palestinians (in part). It’s another thing entirely to demand your ally try to enter into a peace agreement with them with the intention of declaring them a sovereign state.
And why would you allow them to send rockets into the territory of your ally, and not tell them to knock it off or you would?
