"The Mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick, was sent to jail today for violating travel restrictions that are a condition of his being free on bond as he awaits trial on eight counts of perjury and other felonies. The travel restrictions were tightened after Mayor Kilpatrick was accused of assaulting a sheriff's deputy who served a subpoena on him. Mayor Kilpatrick is a superdelegate to the Democratic National Convention.
In May 2007, Kilpatrick received this glowing endorsement from Barack Obama, who called him a "great mayor" who is doing an "outstanding job." My favorite part is where Obama says that Kilpatrick "is going to be doing astounding things for many years to come:"
Obama said he was "grateful to call [Kwame Kilpatrick] a friend," but that was then and this is now. The Mayor is obviously radioactive, but his situation poses a delicate problem for Obama. Kwame's mother, Carolyn Kilpatrick, is Chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus. She faced a tough re-election race this year, mostly because of her outspoken support for her son, but Obama never endorsed her. She won the Democratic primary anyway, narrowly, on Tuesday.
Now Obama may need the Kilpatricks' support in order to carry Michigan, which appears to be in play..."
Difficult to back out of for Obama, but he's a master and the MSM will help.

Kwame is a big boy, but he'll fit under Obama's bus.
"This is not the Kwame Kilpatrick I knew."

Obama says that Kilpatrick "is going to be doing astounding things for many years to come:"
Today Senator Obama elaborated on what those things would be:
1. Having his mail censored by the Prison Mail Room.
2. Working out in the Prison Yard.
3. Wearing white prison suits (29.95 rather than his suits $2995.00)
4. And sleeping with his chubby butt up against the wall at night.

Obama’s a socialist - naturally he feels an affinity for thugs.

Since Kwame is a Democrat Superdelegate, will he be allowed to vote at the Democrat convention from his jail cell?

Hmmm, wonder if they ever arrested those person(s) that threatening Bush? Everybody knows that the only threats to Presidents and Presidential candidates that should be taken seriously are those made by white, young, southern, allegedly conservative males. Since Liberals don't believe in violence and guns, the only threat that they present is the possibility they might talk someone to death.

Mayor Thugee is going to cost Barry the election, the whole enchilada.
Granholm -- who is already greatly disliked in Michigan for transferring energy costs from business to consumers, AND the new punitive business tax, hitting small businesses and start-ups particularly hard -- is going to try and get Thugee off the national stage before the election (but not toooo quick, as she was in line for AG under Hillary!)...
But this jailing FINALLY broke into the national news cycle (It's on the libshit AOL spin cycle, and Mayor Thugee's thumbnail pose is straight outta Attica).
NOW Barry is going to have to answer Thugee-related questions every time he goes to Michigan:
- "Senator, do you think Mayor Thugee ought to be removed? And for which particular crime -- there are so many."
- "Senator, what did you think when Jennifer Granholm tried to cut a deal with the US District Attorney and the FBI on 'wrapping' Mayor Thugee's prosecutions into one big trial?"
- "Senator, what do you think of U.S. Rep. John Conyers wife Monica's upcoming indictment by the FBI?"
- "Senator, what are your plans when you return to the Senate under President McCain?"

Assaulting deputies, diddling subordinates, jumping bail? I'm astounded.

Just heard on the radio, he will be out by the weekend. Only going to serve one day for breaking the rules of his bond. But he was treated like joe six pack as the judge said.

Well, I lost my bet to my son. I said he would be out before we went to bed tonight. Gonna cost me a round of golf at his choice of courses! Wonder if he has a private cell or when he will come to trial? Probably well after the convention. Our local news seems to think his being incarcerated was once again a miscarriae of justice against the Black man!

Don't feel bad about the bet. At least you will enjoy the golf, even though you have got to pay.

What else would they say, it is in Detroit.
