By January of 2007 that price had come back down to 2.08 per gallon and lower in some other places.
I also believe that Republicans have made several attempts over the last 30 years to enact laws allowing more drilling, alternatives and new refineries but have been blocked repeatedly by Democrats.
We here on FR have beached and complained for some time the Republicans needed to do something and when they do, all we some can do is point out negatives.

The point is that in six years, five of them at war, three of them at double war, only a $1 incrase. Six years, $1...to $2 and change. Who wouldn’t want to pay that now?
In 18 months of the Drill Nothing Congress, the price of gas doubled, and the price of oil damn near tripled.
