The veepstakes period of the presidential campaign is always a good opportunity for Americans to learn about lower-profile officials in different parts of the country: Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota today, for instance, and Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas. And then there’s Representative Eric Cantor of Virginia. Huh? The drumbeat for Mr. Cantor, a Republican from the Richmond area, has been slowly building

Buried in the article is a link to a Huffington Post attempt at a hit piece against Cantor -— accidently shows what a great choice Cantor would be. (Can’t post the Huffinton Post article as its own link for whatever reason.)

He is a new name to me. For all the hell I got for supporting Duncan Hunter and people asking “who?” for a man who was Chairman of the Armed Services Committee and has a long record of achievement, it is interesting to see many supportive of the move to put Cantor on the ticket-with VA supposed to be more a ‘red’ state. But anyone to offset McCain’s liberalism is fine by me.

Difference was the Duncan was going for the big chair. God knows I love the guy, but despite his success in the house he never stood out

Cantor is making noise and early on in his career getting noticed. It is like the advice I would give Duncan's son when he gets in the house, take your father's stands but mix it up and and make some noise, it's politics not a cotillion...

For what it is worth, the "paper of record" has noticed.

So has the DNC. He's just another Dick Cheney.

National Democrats take aim at Cantor

Tuesday, Aug 05, 2008 - 04:55 PM

Rep. Eric I. Cantor, mentioned as a possible vice presidential running mate for John McCain, has been targeted by national Democrats as another version of Vice President Dick Cheney.

The Democratic National Committee began a Web site today attacking Cantor and six other potential running mates for McCain. The DNC said Cantor has voted with President Bush 97 percent of the time.

"Any one of these individuals simply means more of the same," Brad Woodhouse, a spokesman for the DNC, said.

I do understand — Fred Supporter, here.

In addition to being a conservative, there are pure crass political reasons for Cantor.

Notably, Obama is a weak fish on Israel, and is going to get the Jimmah Carter treatment from Jews. This is a chance to show Jews -— so many (business owners) who want an excuse to leave the Dim plantaion -— but are scared of James “F@ck the Jews” Baker and Pat “Hitler was just this guy” Buchanon -— that their fears of the Republican party are unfounded.

That Huffington Post article was a hoot! The very reasons why the author of that article said Cantor was “out of touch with Jews and Americans” (meaning JINOs and the East/West Coast “elites”) are the very reasons why he is very much in touch with most real Americans of all religious persuations. Cantor might not play well with the likes of J Street Lobby, but he’d get a standing ovation at CUFI, IFCJ, Chabad meetings, etc. Being one of the leaders in the current fight against General Secretary of the Politburo Pelosi and her stalinist stooges on the energy bill is another big plus for him. He is a good man, a real mensch!

Part of My Vote

Look at this Ballot
Doesnt it stink?
Wouldn’t you think there’d be one decent pick?
Wouldn’t you think voters should not have to hold their nose?

Look at this mess
Dingbats galore
Why must I chose one for the next four?
Looking at this you might think
Sure, McCains the thing
I’ve got RINOs and Liberals a’plenty,
I’ve got Socialists on the next page,
You want Unknowns?
Here are twenty!
But who cares?
No big deal
It’s a bore.

I wanna vote for Eric Cantor
Women are saying he’s real hott, you see
But some around here are - What’s that word again?
Starts with a B

They flip and they flop, they are liberal losers,
Conservative values required for winning
Voting and using my - what’s that word again?
Conscience

Are they pro-troops? Are they pro-US ?
Does the 2nd Amendment cause them to fuss?
Eric, you see -
I hope you will be
Part of my vote

What would I give if I could vote for a real leader?
What would I pay to spend the time voting my heart?
Bet’cha if they could understand
The GOP would change agendas
We’re bright voters sick of RINOs
Ready to vote

And ready to know how the candidates feel
Ask ‘em my questions and get some answers
What was your ideas on this ten years ago ?

If I dont know how can I vote ?
If they’re not pro-life, their chance is remote
For the Vee Pee
Eric, please be
