Kuwait sees oil prices remaining over $100

ABU DHABI — Kuwait envisions crude oil prices staying above $100 per barrel.

Khalid Budai, a member of the Kuwait Supreme Petroleum Council, said oil prices would stabilize over the next few months. But Budai said he envisioned prices to remain around $100 per barrel on the strength of increased demand by China and India.

Not if we get Congress to approve off-shore drilling and opening up ANWR.

...prices to remain around $100 per barrel ...

We'll see, I guess. At $147/bbl, gas was $4.17 avg/gal. At 100/bbl (32% less), gas should be $2.84/gal.

Let's not hold our breaths!

"Kuwait sees oil prices remaining over $100"

Said the Kuwaiti spokesman with just a hint of desperation.

Actually, Kuwait would LOOVE to see prices stabilize around $100. They will still make a ton of money. At $147, demand plummets and a LOT of alternative technologies become more than viable. At $100, those are not quite as lucrative.

I wouldn't be surprised to see OPEC turn on the spigots a bit to try and affect a brief drop down to $60/$70 bbl to cut the legs out from alternative energy technologies.

Gasoline didn't rise as much as oil, we should not expect it to fall as much either.

O.K. I'll accept that. However, if you look at the chart for 3/7, you'll see that oil was about $100.00/bbl. Gas was about $3.16/gal.

I'm not holding my breath for those prices either!

..more importantly, it is Chindia who have drastically increased use in a highly polluting fashion during the period in question , while we're doing pretty good in not polluting.

There's way more dirty polluting Chindian's than clean burners, why don't the Enviro-Nazi's address this more important aspect of the "Problem"?

I mean "really" (SNL news ref.), has anyone even seen the sky in China lately?

Also, since there's way more of them polluting up a storm under no supervision, how long do you think it will be before all that crap dissipates it's way over here, like the Japanese balloon bombs?

Untactful as it sounds, this is way more important than "oooh, the price of gas is sooo high"!
