Well, his 9th district is "Little Dixie" (or Mark Twain country). That sometimes can be a bit confusing to outsiders, because the presumption is that it would be down in the SE part of the state, not up in the NE.

The 8th now includes Rolla and a good swath of the state, so that's how the SE all gets lumped in together.

Hulsoff was originally from the Bootheel; that’s where his family farm is located. But he’s spent his adult life in Columbia. Hence his Congressional district is in NE MO.
