Prison spokeswoman Michelle Lyons said the parents were barred from the prison after they were overheard plotting an escape for Medellin. Also Tuesday, Medellin spoke by telephone to his younger brother, Venacio, who is serving a 40-year sentence in connection with the crime. Yup, those family values did not stop at the Rio Grande! I'd forgive a son for murder, but never for rape. I'd send him to hell myself for that.
Within three hours of his arrest, Medellin admitted his role in the gruesome [rapes and] murders, appalling authorities with his boastful, callous description of the night's events.
Should have skinned this defective POS alive.
President Bush and other federal officials urged Texas to grant the hearing, but Texas officials adamantly refused.
Embarrassing.

We need Auntie Helen in the UN. Its a guaranteed way to bring an end to that thoroughly corrupt and discredited organization. LOL Remember when the Serbs mistook her for a charwoman?

It is sinful to hope that anyone will go to hell. I just reread my copy of the 10 Commandments, and I can't find anything in there about hoping that an unrepentant, unapologetic murderer goes straight to Hell being a sin.
Did I miss one?

I agree. Such a waste of lives... he hurt his own family as well as the families of those he murdered. Now the girls are safe in the arms of God; but what suffering is still visited upon the living who remember them?
May God have mercy on all the victims - his family included.
To: Arthur McGowan
I’ll leave the issue of this man being saved to his priest or minister and to Jesus.

The only way this fellow will end up in heaven is by sneaking in illegally.

Amen AnnaZ. They have another, I believe the gang leader, who is yet to be executed. I bet he knows it's just a mattter of time now. Been way too long...but Texas got 'er done tonight, and spat in the eye of the One Worlders at the same time.
Put down a hideous murdering animal and told the UN and World Court exactly where to get off.
BTW, good to cyber-see ya!

I saw a film of Medellin in a courtroom on tonight's newscast and he was wiping away some tears. He did tell the families minutes before he was executed that he was sorry for the pain he caused them. Apparently he regretted what he did and we can hope he asked Jesus for forgiveness before he died.

all Christians, anyway, are obliged to hope that he might be saved somehow.

What he asked of Jesus is between him and Jesus.
I'm just very pleased that the Great State of Texas arranged the meeting.

The nature of what he and his cohorts did was so hideous that it would be impossible to say as mortals whether his tears and apologies were because he was sorry for what he did, or sorry he was getting the punishment he deserves at this point.
Only God can judge his heart in that fashion...and the state of Texas just made sure that he was going to finally get his audience with that Eternal Judge. And that is exactly the tribunal he should be facing, and should have faced, IMHO, years ago over this.
