At a screening of a forthcoming HBO documentary honoring liberal journalist Helen Thomas in Washington, she was asked whether most White House reporters are liberal. "Hell, no!" she thundered. I'm dying to find another liberal to open their mouths. Where are they?"
Is this Grande Dame of Journalism serious? The answer is yes. Since Ms. Thomas is dying to find vocal liberals in the news media, the least we can do is point her in the right direction.
Let's see . . .
ABC's Claire Shipman says the taxpayers, not the politicians, should sacrifice to close the budget deficit: "If every American were to pitch in $2,000, we could pay off this year's deficit. . . . Or if we handed over, each of us, 500 gallons of gasoline or, in terms we could all really understand, if every American gave up 666 lattes for a year, we could pay off this year's deficit."
Dan Rather predicts Big Oil will try to manipulate the election for John McCain: "The people who can affect the price of oil would prefer a Republican presidential candidate. Watch the price of oil. If it goes down, which it may very well, it could help John McCain quite a bit."

Then you've got some major catching up to do--get going so they can take them away from you!
Danny boy is slipping. If the energy issue is off the table - for whatever reason - it helps Obama. I suspect the OPEC types are fully aware of this... and oil's going down.
Dan Rather is a really amazing analyst. Gas prices always go down after labor day, when people start driving less.
Please spare me the BS of this woman.
Al Lewis in drag?
Ha, you caught that too. That remark by Shipman perfectly illustrates the kind of bubble big-city libs dwell in. I assume most big-city libs gulp down latte after latte like Kramer on Seinfeld. I'd have to first start drinking lattes before I could give them up. I'd like to see a poll asking Americans if they knew what a latte was.
I just realized that I don’t know what a latte is. I know it has something to do with coffee, probably mixed with cream and who knows what else.
