There is something wrong with this entire story.

The FBI’s attempt to blame it all on Steve Hatfill finally fell through. The case against Ivins seems to depend largely on the uncorroborated testimony of Duley. It’s convenient for the government that Ivins is dead, but they may need at least a little evidence before they can call the case closed. If this breaks down, what next? Blame it on Richard Jewell?

“There is something wrong with this entire story.”

Watching the sorority/Princeton story evolve yesterday was disturbing yet amusing.

Maybe the the feds were testing out the weakest story lines since they found no vest and gun, Duley is in hiding though her fiance says she’s “a hero”, there are no such “top psychiatrists”, they didn’t test the anthrax but anthrax that grew in Stevens’ blood (so the stories seem to say), the Beecher “article” on the lack of additives is flimsy, and most importantly IMO, all sorts of people are willing to stand up for Ivins in the press, and use their names, no anonymity.

You got that right.

The tidbit that stops me cold is how relentlessly the FBI pursued that Hatfill guy. At one point the FBI even drained an entire pond near Hatfill’s house to figure if Hatfill could have transferred the anthrax spores underwater!

So after wasting God knows how much money going after Hatfill (and I always thought Hatfill might indeed be guilty), not to mention the million dollar settlement...I am to believe that by golly NOW the FBI has the right guy? In fact he’s been working right alongside Hatfill all these years....our bad.

This is just not believable and I’d add that having these crazies working at a biological weapon research facility makes no sense. For I’ve read that Ivans acted crazy at work and now he’s been threatening people everywhere?

It ain’t resonating with me.

There is something wrong with this entire story.

I'd say. No mention of his psychotic hatred of the National Enquirer. < /sarc> Ed Lake says the maker of the Anthrax and the sender were not the same person. ...so....

I'm beginning to think that if there is even a shred of truth to this tale, Ivins might have been employed by a foreign government and/or taken out by whomever is killing all the other microbiologists.

Dead Microbiologists (google)
