Senator John McCain should press the attack, not back off, IMO.

Absolutely. McCain has to seize the initiative all through August. Much like what Bubba did to Dole. The key states are turning to McCain already: Florida and Ohio for sure

The funniest news today is a video where Boma compared himself to Brittany or Paris. Said he’s more popular than they are. LOL. (I though that was racial-speak)

Doctor: "Good morning".

Patient: "Good morning. Well, you called me in. You have some news?"

Doctor: "Yep, sure do."

Patient: "Okaaaay??"

Doctor: "Well, the good news is, we got all the cancer."

Patient: "Great!"

Doctor: "Yes, and, well...the bad news is, you have Hepatitis A and B".

Obama needs to do something really dramatic to recapture his momentum, like perhaps declare he’s changed positions on the few remaining issues he hasn’t flipped on yet.

We need more change we can believe in!

This is a marathon, not a sprint. McCain is in great shape, poll wise, right now. The more the public see of Obama, the less they will like them.

After the dem convention and the VP pick, Obama will have nothing "dramatic" to fall back on. He will be revealed as the completely empty suit that he is.

From now until November, Obama will be providing McCain with ammunition every time he opens his mouth. I would write more but I have to put some air in my tires.

Obama faces a decision about whether to try and get out in front of the news cycle and create some drama of his own

Here's an idea for Hussein. How about he takes a trip to the Middle East and brings all the network newsies with him?

Oh.

Everyone needs to remember to donate the $25 to McCain to get their Obama tire gauge. That was an AWESOME idea. When they log on the McCain site, they ask where did they hear, and some of us put Free Republic.

McRINO can pull it off and more so if he puts Gov Palin on the ticket.

McCain is doing just fine. I am no McCain fan, but I believe he is doing exactly what he needs to be doing. The middle and some Dems will get him elected. He is winning and will continue to win them.

He is letting Obama deliver these votes to him. He is doing this brilliantly.

The bottom line is that Obama just is not ready for prime time and it is showing and people are getting that. Even Obama’s latest ad countering McCain on energy was just plain bad. Honestly, I don’t want this guy to tank too soon. Can he wait until after the nomination at least?

Wow, Obama only up by 9 points in Massachusetts; the bluest of the blue states. That should send a shiver up Obama’s leg.

...perhaps McCain's 'Celebrity' advertising campaign, which among other things sought to emasculate Obama ....

Taking his cue from Jesse Jackson, no doubt.

or to let the cycle play out organically, hoping that McCain's negative advertising will begin to backfire on him.

It's not McCain's "negative advetising" that's doing this. This is the fallout from that idiotic world tour.

"Obama faces a decision about whether to try and get out in front of the news cycle and create some drama of his own -- perhaps with a VP selection "

Evan Bayh will be named Presumptive VP on Wednesday. Obama is scheduled to be with him in Elkhart, no events planned for pm, but reporters being told, "you'll want to be there" by Obama campaign.

The best thing Obama could do now is shut up, build a fort of the cushions from the couch in his campaign headquarters, and hide there until November.

Overheard today -- a conversation between a 20-something female and her male companion was mundane until she recognized another male. The three spoke. The two males did not know each other.

The second male departed.

The first male asked the female about the other male. At this point, I realized they were all in law school. The two I heard speak were intellectually handicapped judging by their speech patterns She said the word "Like" about 100 times in less than 15 minutes, and that isn't the slightest exaggeration, and "cool" a few times. His speech wasn't much better.

In describing the departed male, she said "He isn't the typical lawyer. He is cool." Followed by "He is a liberal so he is cool." I am surprised she didn't say "Like wow, cool."

The guy said "Is he supporting Obama?" She said "Anyone who knows me is supporting Obama."

How open-minded of her.

Then she said "If you go to an Obama fund-raiser, use my name. Everyone knows me."

The guy said "A lot of lawyers I know are worried that if Obama wins then they won't have any business because they are so used to corruption!!!!!!!!!!!!"

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The naivete of youth.

At that point, I escaped.

there may be some softening in the Democrats' party ID edge nationwide, perhaps because of the improved situation on the ground in Iraq.

As Rush has been saying all along, the Democrats are invested in defeat. Scumbag traitors that they are.

I think McCain is irrelevant a this point the race is Obama vs. Obama and right now Obama is losing. What we are seeing is the same thing that happened to Obama late in the race with Hillary, normal people are getting tired of this guy.
