A FOX News cameraman helped save the life of an injured Marine in Afghanistan and was injured himself when the armored Humvee convoy he was traveling in was struck by a roadside bomb Sunday night in the Helmand province, a Taliban stronghold. Two U.S. Marines were badly injured when the improvised explosive device detonated near their convoy. Though FOX News cameraman Chris Jackson was injured in the blast, he went back to the burning vehicle to rescue one of the Marines. "The cabin was on fire and I jumped out," said Jackson in a report filed immediately following the attack. "I went, grabbed the sergeant out of the shotgun seat, pulled him out."

God bless Chris Jackson.
I can't...
This is a great story and somehow I just can’t see somebody from CBSNBCABCMANBCCNN doing this.
Kudos. There are civilian medals that can be awarded. Has to go thru his local congress critter ( I believe), whoever that is.
the Fox News cameraman is a HERO!
...somehow i can’t picture dan rather, keith olbermann or anyone from the NY Times doing the same thing if they were in that position
...OR for that matter, i doubt they’d even cover the story on their own newscast/newspaper
I saw this earlier, very brave cameraman who did what he should instead of acting PC. Ollie North was in a nearby vehicle, if this is the same incident.
if anyone knows how to “resize” an image in a post;
his HUGE picture can be found here:

Dan Rather could of known the IED was up ahead and he would not of said a word. Objective journalism.
“Imagine someone from CNN doing that...”
Someone from CNN would probably have been on the detonator.
It was -- he was traveling with North, for Fox. North was further back in the convoy, though.
Good man!
I can imagine someone from those alphabets picking up their camera and trying to turn it on so they could film a US Marine being burned, but saving their life? I couldn't imagine that in a million years.
But a million years is a long time. Maybe then the alphabets won't hate America like they do now.
If you re-size it in HTML, it doesn't save any bandwidth.
meanwhile the MSM was embedded with the terrorists

Embedded With the Resistance
Iraqi ‘Terrorists’ Tell Their Story in Harper’s
By Peter Carlson
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, June 1, 2004; Page C01
When reporter Patrick Graham asked his Iraqi friend Mohammed why he was fighting against the Americans, Mohammed said he was inspired by the Mel Gibson movie “Braveheart.”
“Did you see ‘Braveheart’?” he asked Graham. “They throw out the British and the corrupt nobles. It is about hope. The people in the movie want freedom and so do we.”
Graham’s article — “Beyond Fallujah: A Year With the Iraqi Resistance,” in the June issue of Harper’s magazine — is the most nuanced portrait I’ve yet read about the men who are fighting us in Iraq. They are, Graham reveals, more complex and more human than you’d gather from media oversimplifications about “terrorists” and “Saddam loyalists.”
Good for the FOX reporter.
Had this been CBSNBCABCMANBCCNN , we would simply be viewing the death of another one of our troops.
All of the above would have shit themselves when the IED went off...help an American serviceman...but we ar citizens of the world...
A true hero would have sh*t himself without missing a stride and did what needed to be done, then shook like hell afterwards.
Point being he can overcome the fear, not many people can without being forced to by others.
Boy. Where to begin with that. The media thinks that anyone who takes a concrete stand on something is a one-dimensional rube. Most liberals think that.
It is their inoculation against having to having to be judgmental...and there is no greater sin to liberals than to be judgmental of someone else.
God forbid we should jump to conclusions about people who go into a town, capture all the policemen getting ready to serve their community, line them up and behead them all on camera, then after throwing the severed heads through the windows of key people in the town, round up and kill innocent townspeople just trying to live their lives.
We are so "black and white" for thinking there is anything untoward about that, so "un-nuanced".
And those guys who set off bombs in crowded marketplaces or crowds of worshipers, well...they have their reasons for doing that.
Stuff like this makes me do a slow burn towards liberals, since most of the committed ones believe this implicitly.
Their relativism is a cancer...a scummy, stinking cancer on our society.
