The only opinion that counts, is the one given by the 12 people charged with rendering the verdict. It was upheld. Mandatory sentences, law of unintended consequences. I don’t care what you say, there has to be one set of rules for everyone, not special ones for LEO. If anything they need to be held to a higher standard since they are given such awesome power.

I have no sympathy for what Ramos and Campeon did. A suspect was shot without justification, he was clubbed with a shotgun butt (where do you find that tactic in any police training manual?), and they tried to obstruct justice.

That said, the chief witness against them violated his immunity agreement, hence, the charges against Ramos and Campeon should have been dismissed, but most definately they should have lost their jobs.

You obviously know little of the case. When Rep. Dana Rohrabacher. Rep. Duncan Hunter and other good men stand up for the Border Guards, you can take it to the bank. Defense evidence was not allowed, the drug mule was given several border passes so he could continue his drug running and many other perks to bring this case to trial and convict good, honest men. This case goes all the way to the WH and to the Mexican equivalent.Don’t dismiss this lightly. Besides being an injustice to the Ramos and Campeon, their families are suffering. And,tt has put a chill on our Border Patrol.
