Why the heck didn't Blunt vote?
Yep, my Rep Rat voted 'Nah', He knows is political life is on the line.
Nick Lampson (D) will be running against a true Conservative, Pete Olson, come Nov.
So, Until Nov. you will see this Democrat acting as conservative as he can, while he can.
But I doubt he will take on Ms Nancy.
Thanks for that post. The Wed. vote to adjourn the House for summer recess shows a 213-212 squeaker. All republicans who voted, voted nay. 17 dems voted with them. 10 did not vote at all—including 4 republicans, who could have put it over the top. Most shameful is Roy Blunt, who as part of House leadership, appears to have jumped on the bandwagon for the Friday fest only once he sensed the movement had political advantage. Before we tear him a new one, has anyone heard of him claiming legitimate excuse?
Just got back from my reps. office, Bill Foster, who took Denny Hastert’s office. I mentioned that I had seen he had voted to adjourn on Friday and they said that was incorrect. They showed me the vote and said to check the www.GovTrack.us website for information regarding the votes. I thanked them for correcting me and said to tell him I was glad to hear he voted against adjourning on Friday. But I did ask them to relay my wish for him to contact the Speaker and ask that they get back to D.C. to vote on drilling. 5 weeks is way too long to wait for them.
