There is something very strange going on with this gang of ten compromise on drilling. It doesn’t really open up off shore drilling, it simply suggests the possibility, while concentrating on alternative sources, and Lindsey Graham supports it.

Graham is one of those compromised Senators who was given cover on the gay marriage act by going with McCain. My guess is that McCain has not said no to such a compromise, but hasn’t agreed with it either. McCain seems to be playing John Kerry, trying to take both sides of every issue.

Good point. I'd rather this bill did not get passed and wait for the real thing later on if need be. Let it fester, because in the mean time, the Democrats will be reeling from the fact that the American people know that they are not for the people's demand to drill.
