Bush NEEDS to call an emergency session and get the deal the Republicans want on the table and voted on before this bites them in the azz...They can’t let the dunce boy get any positive exposure to this...
they also can’t get this to a vote on a Dem proposal because it will be chock full of restrictions. Then when Republicans vote no on the proposal, Dems and the media will scream to high heavens that the Republicans are in the pockets of big oil blah blah blah....
That is the democrats hope, present a bill just odious enough for the pubbie leadership to say NO
