And they're d*mn stupid, too. Down in Vista, near San Diego we used to have 3 different recycle bins (for paper, plastic and glass). We provided our own regular trash cans. One day, I had too many empty plastic containers for the plastic recycle bin, so I threw about 3 empty gallon milk containers into the regular trash can. The trashman left me a pre-printed note that said, "We could not serve you properly today, because your recyclable trash was not property sorted. Please remember to sort all recyclables into their proper containers so we may serve you properly."
But wait ... there's an unbelievable chapter 2 to this saga: About 4 years ago, they changed trash containers on us. Now, we are to throw ALL recyclables, mixed together, into a giant recycle bin. And they now provide us with a regular trash barrel. We cannot use our own trash containers at all. The effect of this is that we are limited to ONE of their piddly-a$$ trash containers per week.
So, who sorts the recyclables? I tried to get a straight answer from Edco Waste, but all I got was the run around.
Thanks for listening.
Same here. I could haul the bins in the car along with the trash down to the collection point by the paved road. Then we got these big wheeled bins for the recyclables instead -- way too big to fit in the car and it's a long(ish) walk to the collection point, so I just quit recycling. (Not mandatory here, yet.)
God ???
they prolly ALL go straight to the landfill together, I seen the local news crews follow em around and film em dumpin it...money game, thats all...
