They want to destroy the economic system of this country.
They want to control
“Lets start with Dan Rather.”
No kidding!
Madam Speaker, I write this correspondence in protest of the the adjournment of the people's house without completing the people's business. The peoples business I refer to is the The American Energy Act. 73% of the American population is calling for this policy and I am appalled that my representatives would ingnore the will of the people whome they serve. I am well aware of your position on this matter however I disagree with you, vehemently.
IMHO It was staged! Why were these disruptors not shown the door??
I know history as well. NO offense taken.
We can have symbolism AND substance. One does not negate the other.
easy to answer.....they steal like thieves from American money w/o any consequence....a one world law and money pot is way bigger to steal from
as to oil....the most obvious cripple here is using our reserves.....which could drop us to our knees
It got some press coverage, encouraged many to call and support them, now they have 5 weeks to take it to locals back home. Republicans will win on this issue, will pick up seats and Mac will win. I agree, would love to see it go longer and more often, but today, and this week, was a good week for our side.
So, what are you saying? A couple of hours of speech making makes up for recent sessions where the Pubbies went along to get their share of Pelosi’s goodies?
Let me help you out, Think Red. Via DU:
Oh, the Democrats are doing something about high gas prices.

They’re gonna get reelected. Unlike dozens of those same Republicans who played out their little Greek tragedy today. And without their sycophantic Republican bitches to cover for them, next year oil companies might have to face real investigations, profit caps, and prosecutions.
It will be far too late to save us from depression, poverty, and chaos, but by this time next year, we’re gonna be right good and pissed off, maybe enough to nationalize the remainder of our strategic reserve.
It makes perfect sense, if you realize that most liberals/leftists are in the pockets of the environmental marxists and many of them truly are marxists themselves.
Tivo’ing Toby Keith on Glenn Beck.
Very civil. Good letter!!
Hope lots of Americans burn up her email and phones!
surely you jest.............you said we can have symbolism and substance and one does not negate the other
...the democrat symbolism in face negated conservative substance
... name one pol, show, documentary explaining oil from the ground up
... hell, fools still call it fossil fuels...a classic case of symbolism
TANKS!
Good grief...the DU nutters at it again!
‘Nationalize’ the strategic oil reserve...LOL..it already BELONGS TO THE NATION!!
IDIOT!!
From earlier:
The Guerilla Congress [Mark Hemingway]
I just got back a short while ago from the press gallery at the House of Representatives where, as Ramesh mentioned, the Republicans are keeping up the fight on creating new domestic energy and lowering gas prices.
You can read more details about what happened here, but in a nutshell, Democrats voted on Wednesday to recess for five weeks (a motion that cleared by one vote, without a single Republican voting to recess) without taking any action on the energy issue. With Congress recessing after today, Republicans planned a maneuver to extend today’s session as long as possible to make a point about the Democrats inaction. Democrats caught wind of the plan and motioned to adjourn before being foiled by the Republicans.
So what did the Republicans do? Even as the House Democrats left town running scared, they stayed on the floor of the House. House Republicans are still railing against the House leadership and are orating like their lives depend on it, to anyone who will listen about the need for cheaper gas and energy. The C-SPAN cameras have been shut off (C-SPAN has no control over them), the Democratic leadership made the sergeant-at-arms kill the microphones, and they even at one point tried to turn off the lights.
It’s summer, so there are no shortage of tourists trying to get in to witness what promises to be a heck of a civics lesson. They’re lined up out the door, and being that the House is out of session, the G.O.P. has even opened up the floor seats to visitors. Every five minutes or so the throngs of citizens would erupt into loud applause and cheering at something that was being said. One source on the Hill I spoke with was calling this “The Guerilla Congress.”
The atmosphere is positively electric in the House. It’s a good thing for Democrats this isn’t on C-SPAN because they’d look awful. Still, I get the sense Republicans in Congress aren’t they’re to put on a show. They’ve seized on an issue they have conviction in and the American people agree with. They’re fed up with Pelosi and Reid’s incompetence and bad faith. For the first time in years, House Republicans look like they’re in it to win it. It’s too early to say if Congressional Republicans can carry this momentum forward, but this is the stuff turning points are made of.
