We have a system in place to allow representatives to vote on popular issues. When the House leader goes to extreme lengths to disallow votes, effectively terminating the whole point of a democratic republic, cooperation has broken down to the point where alternative means must be pursued. If an insistence on having an otherwise normal vote (in place of mere mundane recess) doesn't work, the next steps get really ugly really fast.

Well said! Very true as well. Sheppard Smith just did a two minute segment on this scene and what I said earlier was completely confirmed as to the facts of the event. Shep in his comments made the Republicans look like a bunch of Horses A**es, but managed to get a dig in to the Dems for refusing to allow CSPAN to transmit nor to allow FOX cameras into the room.
