CSPAN has shut down coverage of the House. The lights have been turned out.
House Republicans are still there, raising cain- trying to get them to turn the lights back on and continue debating over drilling!!!

I just called and said "There's a Republican revolt going on int the House Chamber and I wasn't seeing much coverage of it." I got a run around on it. Was told several times "There are no cameras on now. Cameras are not allowed." I objected, politely, that the story could still be covered.
He seemed mildly irritated that I would question that and asked if I wanted to talk to (name garbled) and I said yes. Got a phone tree that led to leaving a recorded message. I did...
"There's a Republican revolt going on in the House Chamber. I understand that the cameras are turned off. You can still cover the story. Thank you."

Yeah, this is kind of the freakiest thing I have ever seen or recalled. I’m sure some crazy stuff went on before I became politically aware, but I have never heard of this type of tantrum.
Maybe over in Japan where they wack each other around. I’d bet they do that here too, but only in local governments.
According to your link, they voted 213-212 to adjourn, with 17 Democrats and 0 Republicans breaking ranks.
We lost by one freaking vote!
If the Republicans stay there and continue to call for action ... it will make news and cause much attention be focused on the process and how the democrats are attempting to force their way without hearings.

House Votes on Recess, but Is It Enough to Leave Town?

The House of Representatives maybe have voted Wednesday to approve its August adjournment, but now, they have to do it again — and that could be a problem for House Democrats.
Republicans threatened to hold the House in session over the August break since Democrats never allowed them to have a vote on offshore drilling. And the adjournment resolution passed Wednesday by only one vote, with 17 Democrats voting with Republicans.
But the rub is that Senate hasn’t passed its adjournment resolution yet, and the Constitution requires the House and Senate “agree” on what they’re going to do when lawmakers leave for any extended period of time.
Lately, the Senate has not been adjourning, only meeting every couple of days. That prevents President Bush from making “recess appointments” of controversial judicial nominees the Senate wouldn’t otherwise confirm. The President can bypass the Senate when it adjourns for longer time periods, such as the August recess.
The House wrote its adjournment resolution in a way that might not synch up with the Senate. So, the House may have to take a mulligan on the previous vote to adjourn and agree to meet every couple days — for only a few minutes usually — as the Senate will do for the month of August.
The vote in the House again could be close. But a senior House source tells FOX News that the Democrats have the votes to get out of town.
