PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, Manitoba (AP) — A traveler aboard a Greyhound bus repeatedly stabbed and then decapitated his seat mate, pausing during the savage attack in central Canada to display the head to passengers who had fled in horror, witnesses and officials said Thursday.

When no information is released on the perpetrator or victim, one can only wonder if this is another attack by a practitioner of the Religion of Peace. The method of execution doesn’t sound like anything a traditional Canadian would do.
The attacker had a Chinese name. The victim was a Native American.

What’s really disturbing is that with a whole busload of people, nobody stopped the attack. They all ran off the bus. While it sounds unlikely that they could have saved the victim, they should have been able to stop it before the decapitation. And the perp should have been dead before police got there.

Making news this morning: More details on the Greyhound bus murder are circulating. A number of groups on the social networking Web site Facebook are paying tribute to 22-year-old Tim McLean as the victim of a horrific stabbing and decapitation. On his Myspace profile, McLean, who called himself “Jokawild,” described himself as someone who was into having a good time and “getting the most out of life.” RCMP said Friday that Vince Weiguang Li, 40, of Edmonton, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court in Portage la Prairie, Man., Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
There was a young, buff ex-military guy sitting right in front of the attacker and the victim. He ran.

I rode a Greyhound for 700 mi about 7 years back. Scariest 2 days ever.
I have yet to see a name on this perp. The Canucks sure are plaing this PC, which makes you wonder if the perp is muslim.

Do you see what happens when we let everyone have knives? Why, oh, why can’t we have a national knife registry and ensure that every knife that the gubmint allows us to own is locked safely in a restaurant kitchen or butcher shop?
So, please tell me. Is “Weiguang Li” Uighur or Han? And what, pray tell, is the difference?
