This sounds weird, as a biochemist would know that massive amounts of Tylenol lead to a slow and gruesome death as your liver slowly dissolves and your body builds up with toxins and every organ system begins to fail.

Maybe he wanted to suffer.

Or maybe he used his skills as a biochemist to chemically leach the Tylenol out of the Vicodin caplets, leaving only the “good stuff”. An OD of pure hydrocodone would put you to sleep (eternally) fairly quickly, I’d wager.

Either way, it’s a tragic waste of human life.

This can be prevented with certain meds if done in time. I suspect it was the narcotic OD that killed him.

My thought too. As a supposed murderer, using weapons-grade anthrax, you’d think he would choose a cleaner method.

hm.

So if it wasn’t a genuine suicide, then a real sicko did the deed. I could understand a clean kill. Why inflict needless pain— unless it’s a coded message to scare others? On the other hand, maybe there was a psycho doctor who sent the anthrax letters out? Just after 9-11. What a, um, coincidence. Yeah, we’ll buy it, won’t we?

This is what I was going to post. An O.D. of Tylonol is a very painful slow death. A biochemist would know that. So would someone who wanted to punish an Anthrax killer too. If so, they would have been very careful to not leave any evidence of foul play.
