I think she needs more seasoning.

I think not. "More seasoning" would make her just like the spineless wonders we already have in abundance in DC.

Obviously she appears threatening to the reigning corrupt class in AK and DC, because their mouthpieces are wasting no time getting in the early jabs.

Give her another 4-8 years before even thinking about throwing her on the national stage.

She's as capable as any of the leading contenders, perhaps more.

The real question is, can the nation survive another four or eight years of sell-out, foreign-controlled puppets before we get a pro-American in a leadership role?

Sarah Palin is in no way qualified or ready to be Vice President.

As far as I'm concerned, lack of experience is a GOOD thing for someone who can potentially become president. Look at the last three experienced turds we've had as president.

Whom should Sen. McCain choose, for his running-mate? I think that, since he’s a westerner who has been a U.S. senator and representative, he should balance the ticket by choosing a conservative who has been a governor from a state that is in the eastern half of the U.S. John Ashcroft would be the perfect choice. Although he ran for re-election to the U.S. Senate and lost to a dead man, he was later the U.S. Attorney General for four years, during the war against terrorism. That experience would help him, as the running-mate and as the VP. Many Republicans think that McCain is too liberal, but they know that Ashcroft is conservative.

If McCain wins the election, whom should he nominate for some cabinet positions? I think that he should nominate these people: Secretary of State, Dirk Kempthorne; Sec. of Treasury, Ed Schafer; Sec. of Defense, Mel Martinez; Sec. of Homeland Security, Asa Hutchison; Attorney General, John Sweeney; Sec. of the Interior, Richard Pombo; Secretary of Agriculture, Frank Keating; and Chief of Staff, Newt Gingrich.

John Ashcroft would be the perfect choice.

Perfect choice for what? The perfect choice to ruin McCain's campaign? As you correctly pointed out, he lost an election to a dead man. He was largely unqualified to be Attorney General, and everyone knew that he was only appointed AG because he lost the Senate race and Bush was throwing him a bone for being a good party guy. He's generally regarded as a pretty poor AG.

More importantly, though, no one likes him! McCain needs to distance himself from the Bush administration, not embrace it.

Although you don’t like Ashcroft, many conservatives like him. Whom do you think McCain should choose?

Palin as VP = victory of McCain.

Bank on it. That's why the MSM will try to rip her apart before then.

Doesn't matter what many conservatives think. We're trying to win an election here, and I'm honestly struggling to think of a worse candidate for vice-president than Ashcroft. Maybe Dick Cheney, but I'm not even sure of that. Karl Rove might be worse. Again, I'm not sure of that.

Who would I choose if I were McCain? I'd choose someone that added something to the ticket. Given that (very important) criterion, my choices are pretty slim. It's Romney, who might be able to get me Michigan, or Tom Ridge, who might be able to get me PA. No one else gets me anything that I don't already have.

If it were my choice, I like Mark Sanford a lot.

bump - this is resurfacing in the main stream media - now that Gov. Palin is McCain's choice for V.P. I just heard mention of this on the hourly news at the top of the hour on whatever radio station is on in my background.

See for example:
