The comments presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) made about his race in Union, Missouri on Wednesday--was not the first time Obama talked about his expectation that the Republicans will use race to detail his candidacy.
Last June at a Florida fund-raiser Obama--the first African American to have a viable chance of becoming president--said the GOP will go after him because he is black.
Obama said then, "The choice is clear. Most of all we can choose between hope and fear. It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy. We know what kind of campaign they're going to run. They're going to try to make you afraid. They're going to try to make you afraid of me. He's young and inexperienced and he's got a funny name. And did I mention he's black?"

Thank you, anti-liberal.
I meant no harm whatsoever and certainly did not expect to be called a “B” from fatima.
Obviously I'm out of the loop and have no idea what a "B" is. I'm fine with being out of the loop on that.
My grandfather co-authored the brief to the US Supreme Court in Brown v Board of Education but, with the occasional exception, I don't make a big thing of it, just like I don't make a big thing of the fact that he was black.
He identified with a certain segment of the population because of qualities he shared with them, but it was his character that made him the man he was - not the color of his skin.
I think he, Thurmond, and MLK would be saying the same thing Jesse Jackson, in a candid moment, said of Obambi.
I am grown up - that’s why I don’t take offense.
Well you are putting people down.People on this forum.Think about what you are saying to souls.Sorry I say the B.word.((((Hugs))))Fatima
Your gross sensitivity to race issues does not warrant an apology from me, as I have said nothing to insult you. I have nothing to apologize for.
I'll bet your voting for Obama solely because of his color and not the content of his character, right?
But, depending on how it's parents treated it during it's first year, unspoiled.
There is no perfection except in heaven.
Obama played the race card — I don’t look like the president’s on our money.
Blah, blah..............blah.
Well.
It sounds like your grandfather was a great man and way ahead of his time. We (mrs. panax and I) have half-black nieces and nephews and love them dearly. I would smack anyone down that disrespected them in any way.
BTW, “B” means b!tch in street lingo. Fatima has apologized for using said reference.
Again, I thank you.
Well, what?
Apology accepted. Thank you.

The human face is designed with fine spindle muscles that convey meaning with even the slightest movement and alteration of sound and this helps us communicate.
With the event of forums such as this emoticons don't come anywhere close to conveying the subtly of emotive expression face to face communication allows - and yet, even face to face, people fail to communicate.
It's amazing that we're able to communicate as well as we do, especially online.
I always try to keep this in mind while I'm online. I thought I just share that...
You need to” Apology accepted. Thank you.”Too.
Gosh you are so nice.
