The comments presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) made about his race in Union, Missouri on Wednesday--was not the first time Obama talked about his expectation that the Republicans will use race to detail his candidacy.
Last June at a Florida fund-raiser Obama--the first African American to have a viable chance of becoming president--said the GOP will go after him because he is black.
Obama said then, "The choice is clear. Most of all we can choose between hope and fear. It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy. We know what kind of campaign they're going to run. They're going to try to make you afraid. They're going to try to make you afraid of me. He's young and inexperienced and he's got a funny name. And did I mention he's black?"

“I ceased to advertise my mothers race at the age of twelve or thirteen, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.”
This racist remark was brought to you by Obama
“The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn’t. But she is a typical white person...”
Obama
I thought he was a decedent of apes, in the Darwinian sense, of course.
“... as a black man, you know, Barack can get shot going to the gas station, you know.”
Michelle Obama (Michelle dear, White men get shot at gas stations too)
The only ‘race’ being injected into the campaign is by Obama himself constantly complaining that McCain will or might inject race.
Its your policies that we hate Obama! I don’t care what color you are!
Actually, I think the dope's a dark taupe!
In Barry Obama’s world, Unless you are black you are racist. Obama and his minions painted Bill and Hill as racist, and now they are going to tar and feather Republicans and well I am not liking it one bit.
The ONLY reason Obambi is where he is today (i.e., on the cusp of the Democrat nomination) is becuase of his skin color. Everyone knows that a white man with Obambi’s flinty resume, lack of experience, and absence of any meaningful accomplishments would never have got past the first week of primaries.
My thoughts exactly. We aren't going around proclaiming how white (or whatever) we are.
Isn't that Geraldine Ferraro said, and boy did Obama's group crucify her. If you do not like Obama or where he stands on the issues, YOU ARE RACIST. (sarc)
June was almost 2 months ago on my calendar.
Worried about it since June? Poor baby. And what do you know, almost 2 months later and McCain still hasn’t said one word about race. It’s almost like Obama is hoping he’ll slip up and say something offensive.
Meanwhile McCain’s comments today condemning Obama for being the one bringing up race was a good first step. He needs to keep it up and call on the Dems to stop their wretched and divisive racial politics.
Obama stumbled horrifically by suddenly turning the so far bland presidential race
into a fight between a black power Marxist
vs the factions of conservatives, center rights and indy factions.
The Country First Folks.
We might disagree on some areas, but, we stand united in the defense of our country and it’s values.
And we always support our troops-wounded and whole.
It’s like Obama threw lighter fluid onto a pile of very dry kindling.
The Audacity of Smoke.
You don't just “decide” to be black, white, red or yellow. You are what you are.
>>”I don't like gray and find it insulting.”<<
How about Mulatto? That's what us old folks used to call half Negro/half Caucasian people. Anyway, sorry if I insulted you.....NOT!!
Psst - he's actually a HAM [Halfrican-American Marxist]
Reminds me of the nigga thing - they can use it, but no one else can.
It's a descriptive term. Just like there's actually a country in Africa called (gasp!) Niger.
From your post #34...”He has decided to be black.”
Perhaps you should read what YOU wrote and then get back to me with your explanation. I DID NOT MISQUOTE YOU, AS YOU WILL SEE!
How is it that what I said is “insulting” to your black family? Are you trying to play the race card with me? I’m sure the Moderator will agree with me that you are way too sensitive and trying to make an issue out of my response to your quote as noted above in your post #34.
The way you stated your quote (see above) was that Obama could have chosen to be “White” just as easily as he chose to be black?
