While folks do survive train wrecks and walk away to pick up the pieces and rebuild, surviving an Obama-style change jet crash, in my opinion, may not leave enough surviving elements of our Constitution, our economy, or our defense to allow for any sort of American renewal.

We are fighting a war against Islamic Jihad who want nuclear weapons and will use them as soon as they lay their hands on them. Thousand sof our brave troops have died conatining these animlas and killing them by the hundreds of thousands. We cannot afford an Obama administration that will retreat in this fight and make a terrorist nuclear holocaust much more likely.
We are on the verge, after over 35 years of slaughter of the unborn, of getting a supreme court that will over turn the abomoination of Roe V. Wade and rule in favor of life in any number of other areas surrounding this issue. Entire lives have been spen and dedicated to this, and millions of babies have died. We cannot afford to let Obama make supreme court choices that will turn that around.
On top of those issues, Obama has proven on virtually every issue, by his own voting positions when it counted in the IL and US senate, and by his willful, long term associations with unrepentant domestic terrorists, militant hate-America black activist preachers, corrupt political financeres, and many others that he is a militant anti-American himself and an abject marxist.
Obama must be defeated, and defeated soundly in his aspirations to be President.

Yeah, that’s true, but the “true” conservatives here at Free Republic can pat themselves on the back for sticking to their principles in not voting for McCain because he’s “not a conservative.”

I think over time, maybe, we would survive in the long run, meaning it might take 50, or a 100 years at least. If Obama gets in, I do see it as the beginnings of a possible civil war down the line where the country will break up and cease to exist in it's present form. Then after some rebuilding you might see America restored in some for or another, perhaps with the States having more power and the Constitution back, sort of like how America was pre-Civil War. I can see this happening but there will be a lot of hurt in the meantime, maybe even some form of an atomic war. Hopefully the muzzies won't gain much power to stifle or stop this effort, in a way, they are a wild card.
Don't know if you ever heard of the time traveller from 2036 named John Titor, but he spells out a similar scenario of what I put forth. Well, I don't rule out time travel, I believe in keeping an open mind, but until I see a little more proof, I'm a bit dubious on that. Most likely, the John Titor sites and stories are put out by some person or group with conservative, religious, and libertarian elements (the story contains all three) put out as a warning of what could happen if we keep going down this route of being takers form the government without watching out for ourselves and/or giving things back. My own take, I don't have anything against a welfare system as a safety net for those who are unable to work, of course that would be verified, but for those who can, they would be in training for jobs or out cleaning parks and "doing jobs Americans won't do."

Some other thoughts, a lot of people seem to think that Obama will begat the next Reagan. I have my doubts although the only one I can think up offhand is Bobby Jindal and right now, he is a weak spot on my otherwise clear radar scope.

We would be picked over and fought over by the hyenas who are waiting.
Then, we have the NEW Old Soviet Union, China, and all the Muslim states.
It cannot come to that. The war is here and now.

I believe in Time Travel—I have met the Mullet Man who has traveled to the future (or so he says) and its a grim fascist sort of place. I have no doubt its the sort of USSR kind of America Obama would have us live in. Time travel or not—the risk is just too great to elect old Big Ears.

Some think a President Obama will help America by reinvigorating conservatism. They’re playing with fire.”
WELL written article, complete and comprehensive in all the realities of what a BHO victory means to the United States of America. Everyone needs to read this entire article!!
It’s truly Life or Death to stop b. hussein obama in November. If not, there will be nothing left to salvage by 2012, as the enlightened author states, and I keep harping on as well. She just put all my scattered thoughts together, eloquently.

“Some other thoughts, a lot of people seem to think that Obama will begat the next Reagan”.
The grammatically correct term is “beget”.
Wow, unbelievable - guess some people just can’t, or refuse to, comprehend the dire but absolute truths in what the original article writer stated so very accurately.
Scary.

Maybe the best way to look at it is McCain is 20% right but Obama is 200% wrong.

You don't win by losing.
If someone sat down in an interview with this attitude, you would throw them out of your office. Can you imagine? "Well my plan is to make things so bad and to let the stock fall so low that it can only go up!" That person would find their resume in my office trashcan.

The next Obama will begat the next Reagan? Childish thinking on its face.
Reagan had been running for president since 1968. He just did not pop out of the air.
To: AJKauf
Hoping for an Obama win in order to re-invigorate conservatism is like throwing a nuclear grenade at your enemy.
To: Nowhere Man
I believe that her point is the "win by losing" idea will not work as the left will use an Obamination election as a method to lock up their socialist agenda. They will stack the court and establish “rights” by judicial decree. These will be “positive” rights such as the right to health care, a job, a house, etc. Once the court decrees these rights, just like Roe vs Wade, there is no turning back.
So even if we do elect another “Reagan”, it will be too late. The point is a good one.
