NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Exxon Mobil once again reported the largest quarterly profit in U.S. history Thursday, posting net income of $11.68 billion on revenue of $138 billion in the second quarter.
Eleven Billion might sound like a lot but compared to 700 Billion going to the middle east and the Billions to government in taxes for doing nothing.
Its a drop in the global oil bucket.

It’s still only an 8% profit margin...
The company was able to make a profit in spite of spiraling labor costs, oppressive federal, state and local regulations and taxing.
You and I know that but...........
And what percent did Microsoft pull in?
McDonald’s Corp?
Coca Cola?
If you had a .5% profit margin and made a trillion dollar profit would that be bad?
Who else will? With the MSM screaming “they made billions!!” and “you’re paying record prices”, blah-blah-blah. The sheeple are going to want to storm their headquarters with pitchforks and torches. Meanwhile, Ms. “My face is so tight I can’t blink” Pelosi is going to damn those evil oil companies and tax the living poop out of them, which will then be passed on to us.
That's a same. I really feel sorry for their senior management and CEOs.
I hope they are able to make ends meet in the future.
Er, that’s a shame....
Good. I happen to like Exxon-Mobil, and I wish they’d put more gas stations here instead of these podunk local company that seems to have somewhat of a monopoly along with the el cheapo looking Kangaroo.
How much did the Federal Government rake in with gas tax?
“How much did the Federal Government rake in with gas tax?”
excellent question!
I suggest there be hearings to explore that, and that the american citizens propose a tax on the taxers.
They ought to return part of their “windfall” back to the citizens to help us pay for our upcoming heating bills.

Anyone who complains about this “windfall profit” should be willing to accept less of a return on their 401K.
Let’s see now. Politicians want them to drill off-shore so they can reduce prices? LOL
“I happen to like Exxon-Mobil, and I wish theyd put more gas stations here instead of these podunk local company...”
Actually, word is they’re going to sell all their stations.
I’m truelly glad to say that not one cent of my money went to them. I have boycotted exxon and mobil since they both merged to be the biggest crooks in American history.
