Alaska's Palin Faces Probe Star GOP Governor To Be Investigated For Abuse of Office By JIM CARLTON July 31, 2008
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- When Sarah Palin was elected governor as a Republican outsider in 2006, she didn't just take on an incumbent from her own party. She took on Alaska's Republican establishment.
Ms. Palin vowed to clean up a long-cozy political system that had been sullied by an FBI corruption investigation. She endeared herself to Alaskans by making good on her reform promises and showing homey touches, like driving herself to work.
Now, one of the bright new stars in the Republican Party has suddenly become tarnished. The state legislature this week voted to hire an independent investigator to see whether Ms. Palin abused her office by trying to get her former brother-in-law fired from his job as an Alaska state trooper.

Sarah Palin was never a good choice. She is smart and tough, but when she opens her mouth, she sounds like the woman cop in the movie Fargo. Hey, I resemble that remark. There's nothing wrong with an Upper Midwest accent!!!

It’s an EX relative.

I like Sarah Palin.
Politically, if she is added to the ticket it willbe to attract women voters. Anybody who thinks this hurts her with that constituency is missing their cerebrum.

After reading the article, and if it is true what Palin said about her brother-in-law, then yes, he deserved to be fired. And the lame police commissioner who would not do it, then that is insubordination, and he, too, deserved to be fired. Just sayin'.

Mr. Wooten told investigators he tested a Taser stun gun on the boy... The guy zaps his own 10 year old kid with a Taser???????
Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot!! Why is this goof still a cop? He should be in jail for child abuse. Tasers are not toys.

Unfortunately, the media is good at making non-stories into political liabilities. Just ask Ernie Fletcher. Here's hoping that Palin is media savvy enough to withstand the media's “objective” reporting.

This is nothing but a hit job by the DNC-they are really scared of Palin.

Yup nothing here in this article. Sour grapes from an ex-official.
