ALBANY - Warning of an approaching economic calamity, Gov. Paterson yesterday called an emergency session of the state Legislature - and raised the specter that New York may have to sell off roads, bridges and tunnels to close a massive budget deficit.

.
The Japanese bought up a lot of buildings in NYC
It did not work out well -
.
Paterson used hotel rooms paid for by NY state.....
The day he was moved up his wife was up there with him - like newlyweds!
If Paterson will cheat on his wife he has sure cheated NY taxpayers before and will continue

Obama
Does anyone see a pattern here?
Hey Florida is way ahead, they are trying to sell the alligator alley stretch of I-75 so they can raise the toll to $10 each way. Now it’s $2.50. They expect to get $100 million for what tax payers spent much more for. Lots of oil and natural gas off Florida, I bet those royalties would help the budget shortfall.
Florida cities and State was spending like drunken sailors when the real estate market was driving up values, now kaput.

Maybe that’s one of the things I had read but couldn’t remember. What happened with the Japanese - the beds didn’t face in the right direction, bad karma - fung shui, lol! ‘kidding’..
.
Building values did not support what the Japanese paid for them
They dumped them
Japan has a strange system
In Japan you probably pay by the inch, lol. Not a lot of space there and sky high prices.
If the Japanese would have held on for five years, they would have made a KILLING. A three bedroom rowhouse in BedStuy (the ghetto) will cost you $700,000 these days.
Strange they didn’t hang on, huh? They usually have a lot of money to toss around.
I’m way down here in Texas where you can get a mansion for that kind of money. Of course, location is everything.
Need an across the board budget cut too.
ROFL!!!
I didn’t hear anything on this from Sir Sheldon Silver today. Wonder why....
If they stopped pandering to the unions/lobbyists etc. we would be a lot better off. And look at Albany. How many aides are needed per person, cars, cell phones etc. Just by cutting alot of that would help. Oops (slapping forehead)they are the Dems and they do as they want. Don’t even mention their fact finding(read taxpayer vacations)junkets.
I am also afraid of the Saudis or some other Mid East $$ coming in and we won’t even know it. Cause they wont want ust to know.
If you deal that back into the income stream, New Yorkers would end up paying more than 75%
